Chapter 35

(PG-13)

Hiccup Pov:

 I had finished up rounding up the Assassins and Scribbler and Mutism decided it was best to stay away. I go to dinner and start talking to Dagur. We are in the middle of conversation when we hear. "Do you guys know each other?"

 I look and see Astrid as Dagur says. "Yes, he saved me a few years ago and then my family a few months later." To this Astrid responds trying to catch Dagur off-guard. "I guess that that is a few things we have in common." Dagur doesn't react at all, he has matured a little

 "The only thing I know was that I was with him on his Island, but I had amnesia so I forget everything else." Astrid says and at this Dagur reacts and says. "I am going to leave you 2 alone." And sneaks off as I protest.

 "So do you mind filling in the blanks in my head." Astrid asks. Since I don't want her to bother me I say. "Sure, but what parts?" She gets startled at this and I continue. "Now if you will excuse me I hav—." I don't get to finish as she interrupts me.

 "Oh no you don't, tell me what you know about Hiccup and why you keep knocking me out." Well I guess I have to answer since she gave me the part she wanted to know. "Hiccup was in trouble once I happened to be nearby so I helped him. As for why I keep knocking you out, some things are better kept secret."

 I leave and she doesn't follow. I continue with the dinner and go back to my hut with Dagur. We chat on our way and when we arrive we part ways. As I get ready to go in I notice scuff marks on the wall as if someone snuck in.

 I go in and search finding no one. I leave to get Mutism, When we get back he says. "There is no one here currently, but Astrid was here earlier." He said startling me. "I would suggest to keep your spare on in your sleep." He says as I thank him and he leaves.

 Tonight Mutism and Scribbler are spending it with the Dragons. I go in and go to bed with my sword in hand under the sheets.

 In the middle of the night I hear scuffling and peek seeing someone slowly moving my mask. I unretract my sword, catching them from coming closer and hold it against their throat. I look and see that it is Astrid with a startled face. It is not from me sword but I realize that she saw the small scar beneath my lip.

 "What are you doing here, I could have you thrown in prison for intruding on a guest." I say putting my mask down as I push her off me. She lands on her back exposing her underwear a little. I retract my sword as she says. "I came here to see if you are Hiccup."

Astrid Pov:

 "I came here to see if you are Hiccup." I say as I get up, and as I do I notice that he is stunned a little as he retracts his sword. Using this to my advantage I escape and get back to my hut. I can't believe he saw a bit of my underwear, I am so frustrated. That is it, he is dead if I see him alone next time. An I go to bed.

 The next day I talk to heather and let her know my suspicions, I don't tell her about the one thing though. I watch Ryder during Breakfast though he doesn't react.

 I go back to my hut and wait for the Ceremony.

Hiccup Pov:

 I can't believe she almost figured out that I was Hiccup I think as she escapes. I decide not to get her into trouble and go to bed.

 The next day I go to breakfast and stay away from Astrid. I notice that she is watching me and after Breakfast I go to meet the others. When I arrive I see them having fish.

 After a chat about my suspicions of Astrid Mutism decides that I will stay here and he will take my place.

Mutism Pov:

 I head to the ceremony for Dagur when I run into him and he asks. "Will Ryder be coming?" Since He only saw me and Scribbler. "No, Astrid thinks that he is someone he is not. Namely Hiccup, remember he disappeared at the school island." I say noticing Astrid watching.

 We go and take our places and it finishes without any trouble and I notice that Hiccup was watching. For he knew Dagur and wanted to be here but not found out.

 We head to the mead hall for the ceremonial feast. There Ryder joins us, after the meal everyone leaves and goes to a meeting about the war. That is why we are here partly.

 We have someone who gathers information for me, Hiccup, and Scribbler. He is also the only one who knows our Identity's though never uses them, his name is Erik. As we are in the meeting Stoick asks. "Tell my why Ryder is in this meeting?"

 "He saved my life and has fought these people before. They attacked school island, the one at war with us is Arne, He was the one who gave us that information. He killed their allies, he has done more in this war than anyone." Dagur says silencing all the remarks as it continues.

 As the meeting is about to draw to an end a Terrible Terror fly's in and lands on Hiccups head. Everyone gets up alarmed but soon notice it was only delivering a message. I asked Hiccup. "What Does it say." In Dragonese, we had learned it during the past 3 years.

"It says: There are about 20 Hunter ships on their way here. They will arrive in about 2 days from arrival of this note." Hiccup says. "You do know we can't understand Dragonese." Dagur says. "Right it said There are about 20 Hunter ships on their way here, They will arrive in about 2 days from now."

 "How do you know." Chief of the VisiThugs asks. "We know because we have an informant. We have an informant because we have been in this the longest like Dagur said." I responded.

 From their they started discussing plans and Hiccup said. "We will get word to your islands to send reinforcements." But Stoick rejected this. "We have thousands of warriors, Do you think that 20 Hunter ships can trump an armada or so."

 "Yes because Hunter ships are over 5 times the size of the smallest Viking ship that uses sails. They definitely have more than us." I say and at this they all start to panic and we leave them to it to alert their Islands.
