Chapter 39: Most Outstanding Human

Edward was right; H'el indeed possessed a god-like body but still had human emotions and sensibilities.

Many of the things H'el couldn't tolerate could be seen clearly.

Eradicating eight million criminals, eliminating shared costs, mandatory paternity testing, human trafficking, and other issues; one could be certain that H'el had a strong aversion and difficulty accepting some of these matters.

Even his rule over Earth and the prosperity he brought to its citizens resonated with a sigh for the ordinary folks who had suffered at the hands of the elite, just like the ordinary Kryptonian citizens oppressed by the ruling class.

So, Edward was right.

At the same time, the fact that H'el, despite having a body that could withstand a nuclear bomb, hadn't become lost in endless desires for violence, lust, power, or other temptations, was the most terrifying part of his character.

In the Golden Triangle, specifically the Number One Experimentation Ground:

Ta'chai Village was built along the Mekong River, boasting breathtaking scenery, lush forests, towering mountains, steep cliffs, and vast canyons creating dead ends that were difficult for outsiders to enter.

Outside the village, in the distance, vast fields of opium poppies swayed in brilliant red, a sight both enchanting and eerie.

Life within the village seemed peaceful and serene. Sentry guards, with droopy eyes and yawning, stood high up with AK-47s slung across their backs, maintaining long, tedious watch.

Suddenly, H'el descended upon the village from the sky. In the blink of an eye, he noticed the enslaved prisoners and the gold mines scattered throughout.

"Sloth, Envy, Wrath, Lust, Greed, Gluttony, Pride."

In the moments before anyone in the village could react, H'el pointed his fingers at seven people nearby, turning them into experimental subjects.

Directly into their minds, he implanted intense characteristics of the Seven Deadly Sins.

The lustful one immediately grabbed a nearby cow and, with crazed eyes, began undressing.

The glutton rushed out of the village and dived headfirst into the poppy field, his face buried in the blossoms.

The greedy one, driven by irrationality, stormed into the nearest house and started seizing gold.

The slothful one curled up in a corner, closed their eyes, and covered their ears to shut out the world.

The wrathful one raised their AK47, starting to shoot at H'el while shouting in anger, "What have you done to us? I'll kill you!"

The envious one glared with resentment, pulled out a Glock pistol, shot the wrathful one, and then fled.

The proud one stood tall, exuding arrogance, asserting, "Who are you? How dare you enter Ta'chai Village alone!"

"He's that alien!"

"Kill him! He's here to conquer us."

"I don't believe he's invulnerable."

In an instant, chaos erupted in Ta'chai Village. With its nearly twenty thousand residents and formidable military force, groups of armed villagers rushed towards the source of the commotion, further intensifying the pandemonium.

H'el's actions didn't cease. Compared to their slow-motion movements, his psychic control allowed him to act on a thought. The people around him who had fired at him started exhibiting various behaviors.

After forcibly implanting the Seven Deadly Sins into the villagers, H'el then implanted the Seven Virtues – Justice, Mercy, Loyalty, Temperance, Generosity, Hope, and Perseverance – into the armed groups that had rushed to confront him.

The armed groups immediately underwent transformation.

The proponents of Justice saw themselves as defenders of their homeland, aiming their weapons at H'el to protect their village.

The Merciful ones put down their AK-47s, extending their arms like benevolent figures, saying, "We should talk this out peacefully."

The Loyal ones, who had been implanted with loyalty to H'el, betrayed their comrades and began firing at them.

The Temperate, Generous, Hopeful, and Persistent individuals were all shot down by the Loyal ones.

'This is such a waste; humans shouldn't be killed by valueless bullets,' H'el thought, but he didn't intervene.

He simply strolled through the chaos of the village, surrounded by frenzied, disturbed humans whose thoughts were fragmented and who reached out in madness.

He seemed like a deity, walking alone in the murky, dark, and fallen tapestry of humanity.

H'el had implanted various personalities, thoughts, and ideas into them one by one, simultaneously isolating their thoughts from each other. This experiment aimed to test their mental capabilities in dealing with the conflicting thoughts and time intervals.

Mind Isolation.

Incoherent thoughts and the introduction of new ideas led to intense cognitive dissonance, resulting in their descent into madness and self-harm.

H'el then guided their thoughts, creating new personalities within them.

Dual personalities, triple personalities, quadruple personalities, octuple personalities, sixteen personalities, thirty-two personalities... H'el watched in amazement as these individuals developed one thousand three hundred twenty-one distinct personalities.

Each personality truly had independent thoughts, functioning as individualized thought processes under the primary personality, a phenomenon both insane and eerie.

Eventually, one person's brain, overloaded and unable to cope, experienced synaptic fires that set their head ablaze, causing them to collapse and die.

Creating personalities.

Underlying the consciousness of a living being, H'el created unique personalities.

This wasn't solely an offensive or controlling ability. Instead, H'el defined it as an auxiliary skill.

The created personalities, instead, could serve as assistants, filling in gaps, aiding the primary personality in various aspects like learning, work, research, and more – akin to auxiliary minds.

However, H'el wouldn't create secondary personalities for himself because once a secondary personality started taking over, it could potentially seize control of the body, consciousness, and memories, becoming the primary persona.

This invisible risk stemmed from the fact that the created personality was rooted in the primary one, making it inevitable.

H'el shook his head, disappointed that he couldn't experiment with what he truly desired.

What he had always wanted to create was a mental imprint that surpassed mere living beings, but this proved to be a complex task. It always felt like something was missing, like he was only one step away, and that elusive feeling deeply furrowed his brow.

However, these experiments in various mental abilities here did not yield zero results. They allowed him to validate many of his thoughts about mental abilities and gain practical insights into the limitations of these powers.

Mist Corridor.

H'el casually employed another mental application, causing the recipient's eyes to roll back, collapsing them onto the ground. Their minds were plunged into an endlessly repeating corridor of memories until they perished.

Originally, H'el had named it the "Corridor of Fear," but the corridor's construction wasn't limited to fear; it could include happiness, sadness, regrets, anger, and more.

With a sweeping motion of his hand in the void, H'el caused all the deranged and slumbering individuals in the village to have their thoughts extinguished, synaptic fires consuming their brains, and they fell dead in unison.

His mental abilities, refined through three months of basking in the sun on the International Space Station and the current human experiments, had matured significantly, making further breakthroughs unlikely.

Surveying the entire picturesque village with his eyes, the few plumes of smoke rising in the distance, and the total absence of human sounds, H'el contemplated for a moment before spreading his mental power throughout the entire village.

As he soared into the sky, leaving the village far below, even the sounds of chickens and dogs had ceased.

—-—

This was a nation in the midst of a desert, with its largest city having only five million inhabitants. It was impoverished, backward, mired in ignorance, and still trapped in a feudal mindset. Even different genders were not allowed to intermingle, and people had to cover their entire bodies when leaving their homes.

The hearts of the people here were trapped in old ways, and the prejudices that had been locked away were the most challenging to break.

This is a nation that refuses to submit, where the people live like pigs and dogs. Only 3% of households even own a television. The upper class revels in debauchery and luxury, with golden toilets, fingers adorned with jewel-encrusted rings, exemplifying humanity's oppression of its own kind.

H'el strides into the most opulent palace, a vast hall with crystal chandeliers, resplendent in gold and jade. Priceless historical paintings adorn the walls, and in the backyard, tigers and leopards are kept as pets, showcasing the power and opulence of the elite.

"Stop! Who are you?" Soldiers guarding the palace, armed with guns, suddenly appear, pointing their weapons at him and shouting angrily.

"Light," H'el murmurs softly, causing a wave of fluctuation in the air. The first group of soldiers surrounding him begins to heat up, bursting into flames, and they burn to death.

However, H'el isn't satisfied because he said "light," but the manifestation was fire. It might be a result of the soldiers' interpretation.

More troops are rushing towards him.

"Air," H'el says again.

Some soldiers seem to comprehend the command, and their red blood cells begin to absorb air. They inflate like balloons, eventually exploding.

"Earth."

Certain soldiers' joints stiffen, suffering from bone hardening. Their entire bodies become as solid as rock, immobilized and plunged into darkness.

Other soldiers' hair starts growing excessively, filling every pore on their bodies with hair. They are strangled by the hair, turning into a ball of black hair that continues to grow until there's no nutritional source left in their bodies.

"Stars."

H'el utters this word with a hint of curiosity, observing how they interpret it. Some soldiers grasp their heads and begin to forcefully rotate them. Even when they die, they continue rotating their heads with weakening reflexes.

"Life."

Remaining soldiers wail in despair, kissing their own hands and feet, abandoning their weapons and leaving.

H'el is moderately satisfied with this ability and proceeds to explore deeper into the palace. It's almost like whispering to a God.

Whispering into the ears of a god.

The recipients' bodies undergo unpredictable mutations influenced by their minds and genetic makeup, driven by their own psychic powers.

"No! No!"

"I have money, anything you want, I can give you."

"My wife, money, power, wealth, I can give you all!"

"No~~~"

With a wave of his hand, he condenses the bloated, pampered politicians into a single mass, erasing them from the physical world.

These were the last individuals who might have resisted, but they didn't openly intend to resist. They were either fleeing or part of a group.

H'el hovers gracefully, surveying the surroundings. In the distance, beneath a shroud of dust, are rows of adobe houses. People emerge from them, covering their heads with turbans. They see H'el hovering above the palace and prostrate themselves in devout prayer.

Just as H'el is about to ascend into the sky to depart, there is a psychic force at work in the city. It causes people to leap in the air, and with each jump, a faint psychic force is generated.

This force resembles a beam of light, leaping into the hearts and minds of the city's residents. It leaps from person to person like a nimble rabbit hopping on a mirror, collecting the faint psychic forces drawn from millions of people. In the sandy sky filled with dust, H'el can faintly sense the ethereal visage of Edward.

"Edward Jorton, you truly are the most outstanding human on Earth! Hahahaha"
