Dig For Coal

Demyan

I watched Ethan from the patio of the skiing lodge as he paid for our access passes. I stood with our snowboards and gear since I had gotten them from the local shop. No one really seemed to recognise me as they went on the beginner portions of the hill to practise. That was probably due to the reflective goggles I was wearing.

My stomach was full from his delicious porridge. When he said his oatmeal was different he truly meant it. It had hints of rum, coconut shavings and nuts with a load of berries. I normally stayed clear of it but I would be lying if I said I did not enjoy myself thoroughly.

It had probably been the most simple breakfast I had ever had but the fact Ethan had gone through such great effort to deliver the experience for me, it was truly one of the most special memories I had.
