Liliana's suggestion was to use hypnosis on Arata Yuuto, forcing him to confess everything once he succumbed to it.

However, hypnosis, to some extent, could harm humans, especially their brains. Excessive use could even cause irreversible damage to one's mental well-being. This was the reason behind Liliana's hesitancy.

Typically, within the police force, this method was reserved for dealing with heinous criminals. While Arata Yuuto had his issues, his current status didn't classify him as a heinous criminal; at most, he had moral shortcomings.

"Let's see if his family can persuade him first. If they can, we won't have to resort to this method," Yuga suggested to Liliana.

Liliana nodded in agreement. She preferred not to use this method if there was an alternative, as it was somewhat inhumane.

When Yuga returned to the gym, the Arata Sena family sat silently in the gym's reception area, with Arata Yuuto still securely bound to a wooden post, watched over by Gengar.

Seeing Yuga's return, the Arata Sena family of three stood up.

"Sorry, Gym Leader, he still refuses to say anything," said Arata Sena with an apologetic expression.

"I'm sorry for causing you trouble, Yuga." said Arata Hayato with a serious tone.

Yuga shook his head and replied, "I should be the one apologizing. This man is suspected of a crime, and I must uphold the law without favoritism. I hope you understand."

Arata Hayato quickly shook his head, "It's not your fault. It's all his doing. You're following the law; we don't hold it against you."

Years of concern for his younger brother had been shattered in a day, and Arata Hayato was no longer interested in Arata Yuuto's affairs.

Yuga couldn't help but wonder what the Arata Sena family and Arata Yuuto had discussed. At this moment, they all appeared defeated, as if something had greatly affected them.

After escorting the Arata Sena family away, Yuga approached Arata Yuuto.

"Are you really not going to say anything? If you persist, I'll have to resort to extreme measures. With hypnosis at my disposal, you won't be able to hide any secrets."

Arata Yuuto looked at Yuga with a displeased expression, and there was a hint of resentment in his eyes.

"Where have you taken my Pokémon? Give them back to me!" Arata Yuuto shouted, his eyes wide, at Yuga.

Yuga chuckled, saying, "Ah, you care about your Pokémon now? If you truly cared, you shouldn't have let them suffer like that."

Hearing Yuga's words, Arata Yuuto shut his mouth, and his eyes seemed to be filled with turmoil. He understood the implication in Yuga's words.

Seeing this reaction, Yuga couldn't help but sneer.

However, Yuga's scoff seemed to anger Arata Yuuto further. He shouted, "Do you look down on me?"

Yuga was taken aback by this sudden outburst, and he raised an eyebrow, honestly nodding his head, though his expression made it even more infuriating.

Arata Yuuto, upon hearing Yuga admit it, grew even redder in the face, his expression becoming more sinister.

"Do you understand anything? What qualifications do you have to look down on me? Do you know how much effort I've put in for today? You, with your so-called talent, what do you understand?"

Perhaps his yelling was too intense, but Arata Yuuto couldn't hold back a severe fit of coughing, veins bulging on his face and neck, making him appear terrifying.

Yuga pursed his lips. "The world is full of hardworking people, many more diligent than you. Hard work doesn't always hold great value."

Yuga had one more thing to say, which he didn't voice: "I'm not a genius; I just have one more golden finger than you."

"You..." Arata Yuuto was so enraged by Yuga's words that he fainted. Yuga didn't expect him to have such a fiery temper and could only shake his head helplessly.

"Gengar, let's go to the police station," Yuga said.

Gengar nodded and used his psychic powers to control Arata Yuuto, following Yuga.

Upon their arrival at the police station, Yuga instructed Liliana to detain Arata Yuuto. He remained in custody for over a week without revealing anything.

During this week, the Arata Sena family, had visited him, but Arata Yuuto remained almost lifeless, showing a hint of hostility only when he saw Yuga.

Yuga's words had deeply affected Arata Yuuto. He had sacrificed his family and identity to become an outstanding Pokémon trainer, but in Yuga's eyes, it seemed insignificant.

Especially since Yuga, at such a young age, effortlessly defeated him, it fueled not just resentment but also jealousy in Arata Yuuto's heart.

However, Yuga didn't truly belittle Arata Yuuto's efforts but rather disapproved of his lack of responsibility. His belief that hard work didn't equate to everything was his honest opinion.

As Arata Yuuto failed to provide any useful information, Yuga and Liliana decided to use hypnosis on him. They had already given him a chance.

Yuga informed the Arata Sena family about the decision to use hypnosis on Arata Yuuto, as they deserved to know, being his relatives.

Although the Arata Sena family hesitated, they didn't oppose it. They had lost faith in Arata Yuuto, and using hypnosis only once wouldn't pose significant harm.

Yuga's main Pokémon didn't possess the hypnosis skill, so they obtained a Pokémon skilled in hypnosis from the police station. Liliana explained that police stations often kept Pokémon with hypnosis abilities for dealing with special cases.

Guided by Liliana, a Hypno was brought into the interrogation room.

When it came to hypnosis, the Hypno species were the best at it.

Bound to a chair, Arata Yuuto's face changed drastically when he saw Hypno, and he struggled, shouting:

"What are you planning? Your actions are a violation of human rights! And to think one of you is a gym leader, and the other is a police chief, how hypocritical."

Two police officers at the side had to restrain Arata Yuuto, who was struggling excessively, holding him firmly in his chair, but he continued to curse.

"I gave you a chance, but you squandered it," Yuga told Arata Yuuto firmly.

Arata Yuuto spat out, "Hypocrites!"

Driven by jealousy towards Yuga, he couldn't stand the sight of him anymore.

Yuga nodded at Liliana, who directed Hypno to approach Arata Yuuto.

Hypno presented a swinging pendulum in front of Arata Yuuto's eyes and emitted a blue aura from its eyes, beginning to use hypnosis on him.

Arata Yuuto struggled to turn away from the pendulum, but his efforts were in vain. Hypno's potent hypnotic abilities quickly invaded his mind, and he was soon under its control.

Since this Hypno was specifically trained for interrogations, its strength wasn't extraordinary, but its hypnosis was more potent than that of most Pokémon. Arata Yuuto was swiftly brought under its influence.

With Arata Yuuto now under hypnosis, Yuga proceeded to interrogate him about his activities over the past years, his travels, his purpose in Verdanturf Town, and whether he had any accomplices, among other questions.
