Sung Hei's Conviction Part 2

I stayed silent, watching her closely. It was obvious she was hesitating, keeping something to herself.

"I've been thinking about it. Zayen bound you with an oath, but it's not working, is it? So, your ability cancels out her power, too?"

"So, you already knew she wasn't really your mother?" She replied with a knowing look. "That woman is cunning, you know. I would never let that woman control my life," she added. 

"I can't deny that, but I really need your power. So, how about you just cooperate?" 

"So I really can't convince you?" She sighed, her tone disappointed.

"Don't be too hard on yourself. I'm a pretty stubborn and self-centered person. It would be a miracle if you could actually do that," I replied with a chuckle.

"I'm not letting you have my powers," she said coldly, making it clear she wasn't going to let me have my way easily.
