She was going to be ok. The doctor looked her over and checked on the baby before he had to leave to retrieve a few more medical supplies. The only thing that seemed to concern him, was the way the baby’s heart rate seemed to have been beating a little irregularly.

He was certain this wasn’t the result of the accident but he needed an ultrasound to be sure. I had paid him extra to get it here. I didn’t want her out of this home again for a while until she felt up to it. I couldn’t risk losing her anymore.

“One thing about Lavender, she finds a way to work through all the bad in her life,” Goliath said as Cerberus and I sat on the hardwood just outside of my bedroom door.
