Hearing his wife's soft voice, Li Chenmo opened his eyes and said, "I will get some water for you."

Before she could respond, he kissed her softly and got up to pour water from the thermos flask. He handed her the water and said, "Wife, it's not yet dawn. You should go back to sleep."

Lu Jueyu drank the water and nodded. Still feeling sleepy, she went back to bed and fell asleep in no time.

Meanwhile, Li Chenmo was now wide awake. He covered his wife with a thin blanket before heading to the kitchen to boil some water to wash up.

Although it was summer, their house was located on a hill surrounded by trees and vegetation. So, it had cooler nights and mornings. If his wife slept without a blanket, she might catch a cold.

While waiting for the water to boil, he went to the chicken coop to collect eggs and refill the feed and water.
