The unexpected surprise

As the apparent set of the sun below the horizon, the stars started to glimmer in the sky.

The creases on Magnus' forehead deepened. Since afternoon, a nagging feeling had been bothering him and now even when the sun had set, it didn't vanish at all but only intensified. His fleeting gaze cruised over the time on the right lowermost corner of the monitor which had Annie's childhood picture on it. 

It was five minutes past seven in the evening, a suitable time for dinner. The gaze of the man soon floated on the little girl, smiling while wondering if the woman had already dined or was she well. All thoughts about her well-being soon overwhelmed the weight of his anxiety.

As he was drowned in his thoughts, the butler carrying his meal knocked on the door. "Master should take a break first. I brought something to pad your stomach."
