Disclaimer: The story takes place on an Alternate Earth with a slightly different timeline of events. Therefore, people may be born earlier, later, or not at all. This gives me more freedom to write about the characters as I want.
Additionally, the characters in my story are not accurate portrayals of their real-life counterparts. Please remember that this story is just a wish fulfillment tale set in Urban Hollywood with some fantasy elements due to the system's shenanigans, so please don't take it too seriously.

Last time on chapter 115. Part 1 —
"An art film, you said?" James Cameron mockingly asked Arnold as they both witnessed one of the best introductions a villain has ever been given in a film.
"It's just the beginning, let's see if he can top this." Arnold replied with a grumble handing him 10 dollars, honoring the bet.
"Thanks for the free money." James replied with a happy smirk.
Now Continuing —
It is evening time and the sun had set, as they see Detective Gordon and his daughter patiently waiting outside Bruce's door, meanwhile Stygian Springs City was literally burning with the building on fire with a few firetrucks surrounding it trying to put it out.
The screen is split in two as the see the fire slowly die down under the assault of the water cannons from multiple fire trucks as the door slowly opened to show Bruce to the audience for the first time.
Mark wanted this reveal to be symbolic, for Bruce's entrance to hint at his underlying role in the movie.
So he used the dying out of the fire caused by the Joker and Bruce's entrance simultaneously to hint that it would be Bruce who would help Detective Gordon put a stop to Joker's madness.
The dying flames were the elements of chaos that Joker was trying to spread across the city and it dying out the moment Bruce's face was shown; was as good of a symbolism as he could get.
The scene moved on with James explaining to Bruce that he was telling the Joker's story to Brooke. Bruce just nodded in understanding though he asked a question that had bugged a few people in the audience.
"Why now?" Bruce asked him, wanting to know the reason why he was telling Brooke all this now.
"After escaping from the Asylum, Joker has become even more unhinged and bloodthirsty. He wants revenge against those that put him there and I am at the top of that list."
"I need your help Bruce, please help me protect Brooke." James begged Bruce with tears in his eyes, he was scared about what that madman would do to his daughter.
"I can make no promises.. but I will try." Bruce finally said, after thinking hard on it.
"That's all I ask. Thank you, Bruce, and I'm sorry to ask this of you.. to make you go back to that cursed city.."
"I'll be fine, tell me more about this Joker, what happened next? And was his mother really killed by gangsters?" He asked feeling skeptical.
"No.. it was him. He killed her." The crowd gasped at this reveal, James then narrates the real truth behind the event of Arthur's mother's death.
.
..
.
"Holy f***!" Arnold swore as he saw the Joker punch Arthur's mother to death, his hands shaking as he took out a 5 dollar and handed it to James without even taking his eyes off of the screen.
James didn't move at first, completely enraptured by the scene unfolding before him, but then suddenly his immersion was broken when he felt Arnold's hand holding out a 5 dollar bill.
He told him to just hold to it and give it to him later after the movie was over as he didn't want to be distracted. Arnold nodded his head and then the two went back to watching the movie.
After killing her, they saw the Joker stealing some money and heading back to buy back his piano. But the man he had sold it to refused, saying that he wanted to give it to his grandson on his birthday.
They see the photos of a young boy with a mischievous smile, there were even a few group photos with friends. A few keen eyed, sharp minded audience members felt shocked at the interconnectedness of the plot.
The boy that the old man was talking about wasn't a random joe shmoe. But rather the very same young teenager who stole his signboard with his friends. And the one who even beat him up in a back alley when he tried to get it back from them.
The Joker instantly recognised the boy and asked the old man about him. After having a pleasant conversation, he acted as if he was leaving but instead on his way to lock the door, he grabbed a fire iron from the stand.
As he locked the door, a sinister smile stretched across his face. He turned around and immediately headed for the old man on tiptoes, barely holding in his laugh.
As the old man turned towards maybe sensing his presence, he immediately swung the fire iron on his head with such force that even the camera trembled.
And not just that it even tumbled to the ground alongside the old man as he fell unconscious and the screen went dark once again.
This was the longest chapter yet, and rightfully so, it covered the first day of Joker's life and he was already proving to be quite the menacing entity.
He had already killed Arthur's mother on his very first day and now maybe even this old man.
They understood that the Joker was a complete wild card, and it was almost impossible to predict what he was gonna do next. Though the quick witted people in the audience had some clue of what he was up to.
Once again, they heard something before they saw the scene, it was the sound of a musical piece being played, though it sounded like the person playing was out of practice as he couldn't play it properly.
The screen lit to show a teenager saying goodbye to his friends with Gordon's voice narrating how it might truly be his final goodbye. As the teenager made his way towards his house, the music of piano slowly built-up in the background.
Most of the people in the crowd had heard Mark's - [Experience] before so they immediately recognised the song that the Joker was playing. Though it sounded different all the same, it sounded more sorrowful and mournful.
The teen had made it to the entrance of his house and unlocked the door with his key, the shot cuts to the Joker and they see him. But the real kicker is that it's River with no body double and no weird camera angle to block the shot.
It's really just him, though the music is still a little awkward and out of tune but slowly it's getting there. They see he has a gun on his lap as tears are streaming down his face while he plays the piano and as they hear the sound of the door opening, the music abruptly stops.
The teen thinks nothing of it as he enters, he enters to see his grandpa bleeding from his head, tied up to the chair.
He calls out to him and immediately makes a beeline towards him to check up on him and call the police or ambulance. But before he could do that, his eyes fall on to the still form of the Joker who is watching him amusedly.
He has a sadistic gleeful manic grin on his face, as he watches the cruel brat that broke Arthur's ribs. It was his ribs that were going to be broken now, but before that he would torment this unruly brat to teach him a lesson. He will make him beg for death.
"Who the f**k are you!" The young man wanted to fight back.
But the Joker brandished the gun in his hand, gesturing for him to keep his distance. "Ah tut tut."
"You get only one chance to do the right thing, hesitate and I will kill both of you and then the little girl upstairs.
"Wha-what do you want, please just take the money. We've got lots of—" He tried to frantically speak, not wanting for his little sister to get hurt.
"Shut up! Shut your damn mouth. You think this is about money! You don't even remember me do you, AHAHAHAHA!" He said in anger but then, he maniacally started laughing.
"And why would you, after all, I'm but one random person out of hundreds of people who must've tormented in your life."
"But I know people like you, you're a bully, you go after the weak.. after the people who are too afraid to or can't fight back."
"If only your parents had taught you to be better, then all this wouldn't be happening but I guess what goes around comes around." He said with a shrug.
"You and your friends broke one of my ribs, and kicked me mercilessly. Why?" He asked dead serious with all humor leaving his face.
The teenager was mum, he felt confused but watching Joker do the motions of flipping the board he remembered his crime. He felt ashamed of his actions, his grandpa now awake tried to talk to him but his mouth was stuffed with cloth and taped up.
"I asked you a goddamn question. Why?!" Joker couldn't help but shout, angered at his silence.
He flinched in fear of the crazed clown just shooting him out right. "I-It wa-was because you loo-looked weak, you're scrawny and were dressed like a clown."
"Weak.. scrawny.. dressed like a clown. All true, but just because I was all these things does it give you the right to treat me like I'm not human? To hurt me?!" Joker asked, pointing right at the old man's temple.
"N-No. It d-doesn't." He immediately denied, trying to give him the answer that would keep him from killing his family.
"Hmm, what to do with you?.." He asked tapping the gun to his head nonchalantly.
"I know, you love hurting others right. How about this: break your grandpa's leg, cripple him for life.. so he will be forced to hobble around."
"Do this and I'll let you all and the little girl live." Joker gave his offer with a sinister smile.
He removed the tape from the old man's mouth and even he himself asked his grandson to break his leg, saying that he had already lived a well lived life. The audiences finally got to see what the Joker was capable of, but this was just the beginning.
With snot and tears running down his face the boy picked up the fire iron, it seemed like he was gonna hit his grandpa's leg but he quickly turned and lunged at Joker in an attempt to knock the gun out of his hands.
The old man shouted, "NO!" knowing the terrible cost of failure, and failed he did. The Joker had expected such a thing so moment the boy turned around, he jumped backwards and shot the boys kneecap.
The boy screamed like a dying pig, the sound of the gunshot also alerted the neighbours. So he knew he didn't have much time to waste, but with this being the crime infested city that it is, he wasn't that worried about it.
He tied the boy to another heavy furniture and told him to sit tight while he went and got his sister. The boy was now begging for mercy, telling him to just kill him and let his family alone.
It was what the Joker said that resonated the heart of every parent in the audience. He said that children are molded by their surroundings, their family being the most influential factor.
So the reason the boy turned out to be crook and a bully was mostly a failure on part of his family. And with that he fell silent as he made his way upstairs, but the camera didn't follow him on his way.
Rather it showed the grandpa and the boy talking, the boy told him about what he did and the old man said that maybe if he had raised him right then they wouldn't be in a such a situation.
They heard the screams and squeals of a girl, and after that silence. A few moments later, they see the Joker dragging in an unconscious girl that has brusiies over her arms and a busted lip.
The boy begs again but this time the Joker is done with the boy, he turns to the old man and asked him to choose between the boy and girl.
The old man sighed in sadness but chose the girl in the end, saying that she was innocent and did no wrong, and even the Joker nodded his head in agreement.
The audience members breathed a sigh of relief that at least the girl will be spared, after all she was just an innocent child.
But as the Joker turned away from the old man, they saw this sadistic, cruel grin stretch across his face and their hearts trembled as they got a bad feeling about this.
The Joker had put the gun to the boy's head, who simply closed his eyes accepting his death. He told the girl to say goodbye to her brother, she was choked back a sob and said, "goodbye big b—
While the Joker whispered to the boy, "Never forget, all this.. was your fault."
*BANG*
They heard the gun go off but then when the boy opened his eyes he saw his sister's corpse on the ground with hole in the side of head and blood all around it.
The old man wailed and cursed at the Joker that he is gonna kill him, but the joker just bowed with a flourish, and said, "I hope you enjoyed my killing joke."
After which he shrugged and threw away the gun and left their house while wheeling out the piano. He called a moving crew and paid them extra in blood splattered bills to keep their mouths shut and gave them his apartment address where they needed to go.
Declining the offer for a free ride he decided to instead walk to his apartment enjoying the view of his beautiful rotten city, as he was doing so a french song began playing in the background.
It was one of Mark's called "The Last Dance." The Joker was happily humming along to it when he came across the long stairs he used to take to his home.
The feeling of joy from getting back at people who tormented and held Arthur back enveloped him as he spontaneously broke out into a dance.
He felt unbound and free as he danced down the stairs, with music building up beautifully. Mark had edited the scene to look like it was in "slow-mo," but not that much. It only came into full effect when the Joker made any exaggerated actions.
As he reached the bottom of the stairs, he stopped dancing abruptly. His head swiveled as felt his attention was drawn towards a wanted poster.
Though before the audiences could get a better look, Bruce stopped Gordon's narration and asked him just how he knew the Joker's story in such detail.
The detective sighed and explained that it was mostly told to him by Arthur and Joker himself.
But he had also done his due diligence and collected information from multiple parties involved in the troubled man's life like the movers, the nurse, the old man, the bully, the owner of the shop where Arthur used to work at, his landlord and the few people he called friends.
The next scene they see is the Joker ripping out his own wanted poster, he saw that he was being framed for the robbery at the chemical plant by the people that betrayed Arthur.
The Joker's excellent mood was immediately soured as he stewed in his anger but before he could head home. He was called out by a duo of police officers who seemed to be suspicious of him.
Maybe it was because of the gruesome murder of his mother or maybe it was because his face matched with the one in the wanted poster. He had no way of knowing and he had no intentions of finding out.
Because he knew that he couldn't go with them or he would be locked up in a jail cell before he could even spell his name wrong. And after finally getting his freedom, he wasn't going to let anyone take it from him.
They hear Gordon narrate this internal monologue, and then they watch with bated breaths as the Joker flees the police officers.
The officers call for backup as they give chase on foot, it was a long shot with no cuts, with the Joker weaving between pedestrians, running into oncoming traffic and doing all he can to escape the police.
Unfortunately for him, he was still just a scrawny guy with a malnourished body, and even though the policemen chasing him looked overweight. They were much more used to chasing people down, an officer almost caught up to him.
He grabbed the sleeve of his shirt and the two tumbled on the road into oncoming traffic. The second officer couldn't help because he had to wait for a bus to pass by. Within those brief moments the Joker had a tussle with the officer and hit with an elbow to the kidney.
Feeling the officer's grip get loose, he squirmed and turned around, his hand hit the holster and a thought came to mind.
'Why am I the one running.. what if I didn't run.. What if I stopped being a coward.'
'But.. what if they kill us.' A vestige of Arthur spoke up in their mind.
'What if I want them to try.' The joker said back arrogantly as he unstrapped the gun from the officer's belt and shot his knee, so he couldn't chase him.
After that he took off again running towards the subway station, they saw behind him. The second officer stopped by his mate and tried to help him, the voices were muffled.
But he understood the gist of the situation as they saw the officer being shoved towards him as chasing down the crazed clown was more important. The officer nodded and gave chase, but the situation only turned worse.
The two entered the subway and in a moment of hot headedness, in an attempt to capture the Joker and make him pay for what he did to his friend. The officer took out his gun and acted like he was gonna fire at him.
But unfortunately, he was shoved from behind as more people got on and mistakenly shot an innocent bystander. The people didn't stand for him and he was immediately swarmed.
He tried to explain himself and the situation but the crowd wouldn't listen. They tried to wrestle the gun away from him, but it only led to more casualties.
Another innocent person was shot and died on spot before the gun was finally taken away from him and the officer was beaten black and blue.
The whole time he was trying to explain that this was a misunderstanding, that the clown was a criminal but the mob had been provoked. They didn't listen, and in the chaos the Joker was able to easily make his escape.
