Nick was quite satisfied with this bracelet but also rather happy that he wasn't totally exhausted after enchanting it since very little of his energy was wasted due to the short duration it was active. He was still quite tired since he had still enchanted something but at least he hadn't almost collapsed. "What was that about?" Helena asked curiously and Flitwick shared the same sentiment. "Normally I need to slowly infuse the energy into the metal or else I risk shattering the ring , but in this case I simply put in all the energy at once since I was confident the metal could handle it." Nick explained calmly.-
Both of the them nodded in understanding but Steve seemed offended by the blinding light it had been subjected to. Nick rolled his eyes at the big drama queen before eating some lembas bread alongside his muscle potion. He then told the professor that he was calling it a here for now and that he was going to take a nap. Flitwick wasn't bothered by this as there was nothing wrong with what Nick said since it was the holidays and if he wanted to nap he could.-
Nick did indeed take a nap though it was only an hour followed by an hour and a half of meditation. He then quickly enchanted the chakram for Flitwick's gift and stored it away in Greed and actually calling it a day and heading to the great hall for dinner. It was a quiet evening as few people had recovered enough to speak after the horrible news this morning. Nick ate his share of food before turning in for the night alongside most of the rest of the Gryffindor dorm including the twins.-
The next day was much better as the news paper reported that the ministry had caught one of Grindelwalds followers and sentenced them to the dementor's kiss. This lifted the students spirits considerably but after personally reading the article Nick knew it was a lie as there were too many conflicting points in the story. 'Probably a ploy to keep the panic down.' He thought with a sigh while not feeling bad for the ministry at all since the whole organization was corrupt to it's core. Maybe the wizards who worked there weren't corrupt but the organization itself very much was and it allowed monsters like Grindelwald and Voldemort to come into existence.-
Nick felt bad for the people of the towns as well as their families as all of those lives were now ruined because of a single wizard who should have been killed long ago. Nick shook his head to get rid of these thought and finished eating before heading to the workshop to finish up his gift list with Daphne's and Tracy's gifts. For Daphne he made an occlumency ring similar to Sanar but a bit weaker since it lacked the mind art affinity that Sanar had.-
Tracy's gift however was fairly simple as it was merely a ring with the ability to correct her wand movements based on her memory of the subject. This would help her immensely with consistency in casting which she has a bit of a problem with. It wasn't a cheat in that it suddenly made her great at casting every spell but it made it easier for her to go further than she would normally. Once these were done Nick wrapped each of the present labeled them and handed them off to the Hogwarts house elves to distribute on christmas. He then ate dinner and turned in for the day satisfied at the amount he had gotten done.-
The next day he woke up at dawn and stretched before lazing about next to the fire in the common room with some cookies and milk. Surprisingly no one seemed to know that you could summon a house elf for service in the common room. Nick didn't blame them either as he only found out thanks to his magical senses telling him that one of the lion busts could be pressed for an effect. So now he could sit next to the warm fire with a snack and a drink as well.-
Tomorrow was christmas eve so today Nick decided to basically spent the whole day doing pretty much nothing. He got a lot of surprised faces when the rest of the dorm started to wake up and when asked about it he simply said that he had finished all his necessary work. Ron of course took the opportunity to challenge Nick to wizards chess and lose. It was funny to see the grizzled veteran pieces have shocked faces at losing the battle. Wizards chess pieces were enchanted with semi-sapience so the game was closer to actual battle than muggle chess.
