She was not Aria's mother to be cuddling her to stop her from throwing a tantrum.

"Aria, if you cherish your life, do not call me a wild animal," Annalise said, gripping the basket to calm her anger. 

"And what will you do? Put a snake in my bed? I shall tell Mavis if you do it," said Aria.
