What the hell was this man's problem? Why would he outright say something like that out of the blue? Given my current state, telling me something like this wouldn't do him any good. But then, I don't think he even realizes that my memories are gone.

For him not to have noticed, did that mean we were always like this?

It wasn't like I expected anything grand or a strong lasting bond between us. I knew that after Keith betrayed me, I wasn't going to open up my heart again. But, then…

"It's fine. It's not like our relationship was at that level." I told him, hoping that would ease his worries.

His countenance fell completely, and I didn't know if he did that intentionally to guilt me, or he was just that fucking expressive.

"Okay, I see." He said despite looking like an abandoned puppy in a worn out box. What was I supposed to do? How do I react to that when his eyes and lips are saying two different things?
