Training on Route 6 and Pokemon scholar

Route 6 is a medium-sized pathway that curves around to form a "S" shape with tall grass surrounding the route to form the shape. In the middle of the route there is a large pond that expands out and forms the pathway heading though the route. The route mostly following a path that is bordered by tall grass.

After both Jun and Aunt Mia passed through the northern gate of Vermilion City, they immediately dismounted Altaria and continued on foot. This was done so that Jun could train his Beldum and Eevee along the way.

"Eevee, sand attack then use mud slap and Beldum, use tackle"

"Kyuu~!"

"Bel~bel!"

Soon, Teddiursa and Marill were defeated, and Jun took out high-quality water-type and normal-type Pokemon food. He gave the water-type food to Azumarill's father and the normal-type food to Ursaring's father as a promise to let their children spar with his Pokemon.

Both Pokemon then bid farewell and leaves.

"That's good, your Pokemon are developing very quickly," his aunt said.

Jun was also very happy. His Beldum had just reached level 10, and his Eevee had reached level 15, which was only one step away from evolution if it followed a normal evolution path.

However, Eevee's evolution in this world had not yet been discovered. Initially, he had thought of using Eevee's evolution as a stepping stone towards becoming a Pokemon scholar. However, he realized that it would be unusual for an 11-year-old to make a breakthrough in Pokemon studies.

In this world, The terms 'researcher' and 'scholar' are sometimes used interchangeably, but there are some differences between the two.

A Pokemon researcher is someone who conducts research on Pokemon. However, this type of research can only be conducted by a Pokemon professor or associate professor due to its complexity and potential for experimentation and scientific breakthroughs involving Pokemon. This restriction is in place to prevent reckless experimentation that could harm Pokemon. Therefore, only individuals holding the positions of professor or associate professor are allowed to conduct research on Pokemon.

Different from researcher, Pokemon scholar is an experts in their chosen area of study and are often recognized for their contributions to the field. They may conduct research, but their primary focus is on studying and analyzing existing research, theories, and ideas. Pokemon scholars often publish books, articles, and other works that contribute to the knowledge in their field.

As a result, there is a significant gap between a scholar and a researcher. This is also the reason why many people are more familiar with the term 'scholar' than 'researcher,' since the data they access on a daily basis mostly comes from Pokemon scholars.

In general terms, if you want to be called a researcher, you need to create something, invent something, or make a breakthrough in a special field that will contribute to society and Pokemon, and then climb up the ranks to become a Pokemon professor. Even an associate professor does not necessarily get the privilege of being called a researcher. Mostly, they will be called an expert or an associate.

Jun's grandma is an associate professor from the Hoenn region. At first, he thought that the differences between an associate professor and a professor might not be significant, but he was wrong. His grandma did not own a laboratory! This is basically threw off his plans!

The Pokemon alliance prohibits individuals below the level of professor from owning their own laboratory to ensure they are always supervised. Even when an associate professor title must be guaranteed by a professor, and when they want to conduct research, their research must be approved by a Pokemon professor first.

This world's general knowledge is not too different from his previous world. There are doctors who treat others, knowledge related to robotics, nutritionists, physics, chemistry, biology, and even mathematics. So, basically, there are many ways to climb to the rank of professor. However, it is easier said than done. Jun's source of confidence is basically based on his knowledge about things related to Pokemon.

Soon, Jun and Aunt Mia arrived at the large pond in front of them. There were many wild Pokemon playing in the pond, but most of them were still cubs, so Jun was not interested in fighting them. They headed east, circled the pond, and not long after, they reached the gate that led to the underground path.

"This is the gate to Saffron terminal. It leads to an underground path that connects Saffron city and Vermillion city," his aunt explained.

Jun looked at the cave gate curiously. There were stairs leading downwards, but he couldn't see anything beyond them.

"So we go there?" Jun asked

His aunt shook her head and said, "No, it will take too much time to use this underground path. Moreover, this path is more dangerous. The last time I heard of someone using it, she was robbed and her Pokemon were kidnapped. If it weren't for a Pokemon ranger passing by, she may have had to end her trainer career"

Jun was startled to hear this. So, there were things like that? It seemed that this world was more dangerous than he had thought. He had often watched Pokemon series in his previous world, but what he watched were mostly Pokemon shows that were packed with comedy, especially the scenes where Team Rocket's mascots, Jessie and James, would fly into the sky because Pikachu 100,000-volt attack. Once again, his aunt's words reminded him that this world was not as idyllic as he had imagined. He realized that not only humans but also Pokemon could be dangerous.

His aunt then release Altaria.

"Tarii~"

"Jun, let's ride Altaria so we can quickly get to Saffron city," his aunt said.

"Yes, Aunt," Jun nodded and mounted Altaria, flying towards Saffron City.

'It's nice to have a Pokemon that can fly. Maybe my third Pokemon should be a Flying type?' Jun suddenly thought while looking at Altaria.

Soon, the scenery in front began to change as they left the lush green forest behind and entered a more developed area. Jun's eyes reflected a sprawling metropolis, with towering skyscrapers and bustling streets. Altaria soared high, its wings flapping gracefully in the air, before descending lower as they approached the outskirts of the city
