Islinda's heart pounded in her chest. 

She should stop this but the shock of his lips on her skin left her reeling for several more seconds. Aldric finally leaned back, his hand still on her neck and Islinda found it difficult to breathe. 

He squeezed her neck slightly and she flinched, the smirk that tugged his lips to the side suddenly making her feel like she walked right into his trap. And instead of being frightened, Islinda was electrified.
