Chapter 30: Honeymoon

Colette … no, Arienne, felt like a woman renewed. As she sat outside, watching the sun set over the lake, she felt someone sit beside her and take her hand. It was her wife of course, but she looked over with a smile nonetheless.

She was still wearing the little black dress and white jacket that came with it, her black lacy tights, and of course, the red high-heels. Her hair was down, however. Nora had thrown her own jacket aside, opting to wear the black jeans and the button-down shirt.

“Hi.”

“Hi, Nora.”

“Enjoying the view of the lake?”

“I’m enjoying it much more with you here.”

“I can’t believe we did that.”

“What, got married? Me neither. It still feels a little unreal.”

“There’s still so much to do, too.”

Colette sighed heavily, leaning back against the steps. She watched as a swan flew onto the lake and began to paddle around, followed shortly by its partner. The house was smaller than the manor.
