Adrienne laughed inwardly, thinking how bold Valerie was to make such a statement before Alistair Han. Wasn't Valerie afraid of offending this man? Anyway, Alistair wasn't too petty to make things difficult for Valerie and make an enemy out of the Xia family. 

Meanwhile, Adrienne had already expected that her Uncle Reese would be unwilling to marry her off this early. She knew her uncle's protective nature and his desire for her to have a successful career before settling down. It also didn't help that her mother's marriage to her father was disastrous to begin with. 

Alistair showed a hint of displeasure on his face but didn't dare say anything. He only glared furiously at Lennox Qin before turning to leave. Prosecutor Ji looked at him, then Lennox Qin, before deciding to go after Alistair in the end.
