I found myself nodding to their points as I walked past them. Why was this war even a thing, actually? Was it because of land? Expansionist ambitions? A grudge match between eternal rivals? Or maybe it was even an unforeseen result of a seemingly small event that spiraled way out of control? Who knows, really?
Shrugging at the possibilities, I made my way through the city streets, making sure that I committed my chosen path to memory as I spotted the one store I scouted out earlier. It was a good thing that I always stashed a few coins on my person for this exact reason. There was always a chance that we might need to buy something after all. And since we're basically guaranteed to leave the capital after this, I might as well splurge and get myself something to eat as well.
"Welcome, lad," the shopkeeper greeted me. "Find something you like?"
