5) Becoming a Jujutsu Sorcerer

Now that I think about it… I never really asked myself what it "means" to be a Jujutsu sorcerer.

Is it cursed energy?

Techniques?

No, no. That feels a bit too ambiguous to be acceptable..

"The answer is a rather simple one, for the literal term I suppose," Gojo walked closer to our group and pointed out to Panda. "Tell me what it means to be a Jujutsu sorcerer Panda!"

Panda scratched the bottom of his chin for a second, cooking up a response I presume.

"Save the world from the plague of cursed spirits! BOOM!!" Panda said as he struck the Racoom pose from DBZ

Everyone stared at him in silece.

Very awkward silence..

"Well, you aren't particularly WRONG, but that wasn't the answer I was looking for. You're next Maki!" he pointed at her.

"We are individuals that are trained and employed by the two jujutsu educational in Japan to defend humanity from cursed spirits."

(A/N: Maki is more of a textbook person, so I literally used the wiki definition)

"Also not wrong, but I'm looking for something more heartfelt. That may LITERALLY be what anyone would say." Gojo walked over to me, Yuta, and onigiri ingredient guy.

"I'm sure you know what it means to be a sorcerer Toge, so let me allow Yuta to define it."

"Okaka.." Toge said in a rather unmotivated tone.

"Eh, you'll live. Anyways Yuta, what do you think?"

Yuta looked up to the sky and back at Gojo and said, "Well, I guess protecting the people that can't use cursed energy to my fullest ability is what it means to be a sorcerer to me."

Gojo smiled and walked back to his previous position.

"Until you can find what it means to be a sorcerer to YOU, Furōkawa, never stop trying to help the powerless."

Huh, I guess Yuta's answer might be what Gojo wanted to hear from us younger shamans. I'll put my mind to it when I'm more experienced in the field.

"Let's get to the ACTUAL training for today. Yuta, Panda, Toge, and Maki, together. Furōkawa, you're with me."

And so, everyone split away from me and began doing their own training of sorts, while I was stuck…with Gojo. I hesitantly decided to go over to him.

"Today, I'm gonna teach you how to manipulate your cursed energy sufficiently enough that you can do it again on your own. I'm also aware of the danger you can put other people in so I had to separate you from the rest of class."

Fair point.

"So let me show you cursed energy vs. cursed technique."

Gojo set two soda cans and pointed at them with his palms. Shortly after, one of the cans was knocked and the other was twisted and crushed.

I can't even pretend like I know what just happened. I am SO confused..

"So um..what did you do exactly?"

"Well basically,"

[Gojo uses the same electric appliance analogy he used when teaching Yuji about cursed energy]

"Do you understand?"

I guess putting it into electricity terms makes it a lot more understandable in a sense. If I could get used to the feeling of CE, and then put it through an 'appliance', and that means I'll have some crazy techniques!

"I guess I kinda understand. If I could manipulate my CE, maybe I can start burning real objects!"

"Remember that feeling in the pit of your stomach? Try bringing it back out really quick."

And so I did. I recalled back to the Hyakki Yako when I was being attacked by those cursed spirits. The sensation of the cursed energy releasing was like…a tummy rumble after eating greek yogurt!

Alright, I'm starting to feel it..

"Yes, you're getting it. Now let it flow all around your body."

The energy spread from my core, then my legs, then arms, and soon enough my head. Alright, a little more and I should be able to rel—

BooooOoOoM!

Uh oh.. that's not good..

My CE blew up. Again. My clothes..

The other students came sprinting over to me and Gojo, and honestly, I can't even determine if Gojo is still 'here' after that.

But there he stood, about 4 meters back with his fingers crossed with a bunch of floating rocks and rubble in his space.

"Well that was close." He released his fingers and the rocks hit the ground.

Nevermind, he's good.

"What the hell was that! That burst of energy was incredible!" exclaimed Maki.

"It was our new sorcerer here that is…naked," Gojo pointed at me while getting closer to the group then said, "be right back." and vanished out of thin air.

"Wow, you're CE output is incredible Furō! When you can learn how to control it, you'd probably have more than Gojo!" Yuta cheered.

"Takana.."

"Good observation Yuta! Just like you, Furō has incredibly large reserves of CE that might be just as much as yours, if not a little higher. However, that's to be expected from those of our lineage." Gojo returned with a new set of clothes, which I urgently put on.

"So we have another powerhouse among us huh? I guess Jujutsu sorcerers are in good hands." Panda said.

"And that's exactly why they need to master their power."

Gojo put his hand on my shoulder and I suddenly felt a massive amount of responsibility come over me.

"I understand, I'll try to get this CE down perfectly so I won't blow anymore shit up!" I yelled with determination and enthusiasm.

And so, I began my long journey of learning and mastering my own cursed energy.

[GOJO'S POV]

Excellent, I knew something was strange about Furōkawa's cursed energy! It has a rare property of corrosion and acidity, being able to corrode physical objects and cursed energy alike. If I hadn't moved quickly during that explosion, I would have undoubtedly been injured…or not.

Now with students like Yuta, Todo, Hakari, and Furōkawa, special grade won't be enough to classify them, and my dream of changing the structure of the Shaman world is coming in full swing!
