Chapter 196: White vortex

"Nooo!, turn back. We need to go back!" Sanji screamed.

The crew looked at him with pity.

He had been like this since they left Fishman Island. Eventually, they got tired and left him there looking while they moved on to do other things.

"What do you think of the shower tempo?" Asked Nami.

The navigator had created a small cloud to use as a showerhead while they were taking a bath.

"I think is too cold. You should get back here." Vivi opened her arms in a welcoming way while sitting in the bathtub.

"I need to clean my hair first." Nami looked at the third occupant of the bathroom.

"Need help, Chopper?"

The little deer was cleaning himself, sitting on a small stool.

"I'm fine!." He assured her.

Once she was done removing the shampoo, Nami sat back down in the tub in between Vivi's legs and laid back against her chest.

"This is nice…" Nami closed her eyes.

"Yeah." Vivi put her arms around her waist.

"You gave me quite the show while cleaning your hair, we should do this more often. "

Nami chuckled.

"I'm curious, do you even need to take baths? after all, your body is made of water."

"My body is made of flesh, like everyone else. I can turn it into water if I chose to. " Clarified Vivi.

"I don't really need to take baths in order to be clean but I do like to take them anyways. They feel nice."

"I know right?." Nami agreed with enthusiasm.

"It feels so luxurious taking a bath like this." She looked out of the window.

"Is so dark in these deep seas, is almost like being outside at night."

"Are they going to be alright without you there?" Asked Chooper to Nami.

"I'm getting out before we reach the ascending currents and they can beat any sea creature we encounter." Said the navigator.

They heard a commotion from above.

"What was that?!" Asked Chopper.

"That's probably our Captain, he said he wanted to fish and Usopp made a big hook for him to play with." Answered Vivi.

"Those guys are always doing something crazy…why can't they just lay down and read a book or something?" Wondered Nami.

A few more minutes passed and they heard another commotion, much louder than before and this time it shook the ship.

"This is getting ridiculous! How loud can they be to catch a fish?" Nami was starting to get angry.

"What's that white thing? A snake?!" Chopper points out of the window. A white, worm-looking thing was passing next to the ship.

"Is not a living being…" Said Vivi, not sensing anything from it.

Namis face became paler.

"Oh no!. That's the white storm!"

She jumped out of the tub and quickly cover herself with a towel before leaving the bathroom.

Chopper and Vivi followed her to the deck where the rest of the crew was looking at the strange phenomenon.

"Everyone, hurry up and get us away from that vortex!" Nami gave the order.

"Listen to our navigator!" Cried Usopp.

"What is that ugly thing?" Vivi pointed at the gigantic sea creature that was tied to their ship.

"That's our catch!. " Luffy smiled with pride.

"Sanji is going to cook it for dinner."

"What are you guys thinking?!. With that thing attached to our ship, we won't be able to escape the vortex!" Nami admonished them.

"She is right!, the fish is being sucked in!" Cried Chopper.

"Cut it off you damn fools!" Demanded Buggy.

"Nooo!" Cried Luffy

"What's more important your dinner or your life?!" Asked Nami.

Luffy looked thoughtful for a second.

"Do I really have to choose?"

"Nevermind!." Nami ignored her Captain and took command.

"Franky!, use the Coup de Burst to get us away!, Zoro cut the rope!. "

"Sorry, but is super late already. " Said the cyborg.

"The fish got caught by that white current thingy." Vivi pointed forward.

"Ha, this is bad!." Luffy said with a smile.

"Ah..." That was all Nami had time to say before the ship was pulled into the vortex.

"Hang on to something!" Shouted Zoro.

The ship started to spin around inside the vortex and it felt like being trapped inside a washing machine during the drying cycle.

This continue for what felt like hours but it was probably seconds until it stopped with no warning.

"Is stopped!." Cried Usopp in relief.

"We hit something." Zoro pointed out.

"Those are….!" Nami stared in awe.

Brook gasped

"Ohh!"

A colossal whale was in front of their ship.

"Laboon?!" Shouted Luffy.

"Laboon, you became so big!" Called Brook.

"Don't be silly, Laboon is on the other side of the Grand Line, and if he was that big, there would be no way for him to pass beneath the Red Line." Said Usopp.

"There are also many of them…" Vivi pointed up.

"What a sight…to think that we would run across a group of 'Island Whales'. " Robin stared up.

"Some of them have scars on their heads like Laboon," Zoro observed.

"Wait, that's not Laboon?!. Even their wounds look alike." Exclaimed Luffy.

"Maybe the entire species has something against the red line." Vivi considered.

"Laboon…" Brook started crying.

"Get yourself together man!" Usopp slapped his back.

"This is no time to relax. We just escaped a deadly vortex!" Shouted Sanji, who seemed to have finally recovered a bit.

"Let's make a head count to be sure that no one got lost!."

"Nami?"

"Here."

"Robin?"

"I'm here."

"Vivi?"

"Here!"

"Okay, we are good to go!" Ordered Sanji.

"Please count us too!" Cried Chooper.

"The rest of the crew is fine by the way…even the clown." Said Usopp while giving the chef a blank stare.
