Emily’s perspective:
“Is she strapped tight? We don’t want to move her too much,” Grant says.
Gabby cuts in before I can respond. “I’m good. Just go. I’m healing already. I was able to wiggle my toes a minute ago.”
“Good to hear. I just don’t want to shake you around. Like I said to Emily, we don’t know what’s going on on the inside.” Grant turns to scope the path ahead. “It looks like pretty smooth sailing ahead.”
Trying to mentally prepare for the trip, I nervously ask a question I already know the answer to. “You said we’d have to climb down, right?”
“We will. It’s going to get rough after a while. The uneven terrain will come right before we have to climb. That is, if memory serves me right. I haven’t been up here in a long time.”
“Enough talk!” prods Gabby. “Let’s get this d*mn show on the road.”
