[Chapter Size: 1900 Words.]
Third Person POV
Land of Fire, Year 39.
...
...
"Well, it seems we got them," Minato commented, looking at all the bodies scattered and lying unconscious on the ground while he removed his cloak. The girls watched him, raising an eyebrow.
"..." Mikoto and Hanabi just stared at him for a few seconds before the former took a step forward.
"Anyway, what should we do now?" Mikoto approached.
"Let me see..." Minato searched for someone who seemed to be the leader, then grabbed him before waking him up with a slap. "Can you get information from him?" Minato asked, and Mikoto nodded before releasing her Sharingan.
The frightened man saw the red eyes paralyze him as he looked lifeless for a moment. "Tell me where the meeting is," Minato requested as Mikoto repeated the words.
"We will meet Iwa three kilometers away, in the northern hills. The meeting is in three hours," the man said.
"Is there a code for Iwa's ninjas to recognize you?" Minato continued to ask while Mikoto gathered the information.
"Use a red armband... that's the code," he replied.
"Alright, put him back to sleep," Minato said, and Hanabi did so as the ninja collapsed to the ground.
"Now we have a way to deceive them... let's wait after cleaning up this mess," Minato summoned several clones, and they proceeded to tie up all the Ame ninjas.
"What were you doing?" Hanabi approached while Minato's clones finished the work.
"I saw an interesting child; I hope they're okay for a while. Anyway... we'll have to wait a few hours," Minato said in the end.
The girls simply agreed, not asking further questions, as the hours passed until it was time for the meeting.
At that moment, from the warehouse window, a group of twenty Ame ninjas, led by someone wearing a red armband, moved out silently before any citizen could see them and left the city.
They headed north, quickly spotting the hills where a group of ninjas in Stone Village uniforms were already waiting. The Ame ninjas approached, landing a few meters from them.
"You're Hanzo's ninjas..." a fat man from the Stone Village spoke.
"Yes... we're here for the scroll for Hanzo-sama," the ninja said, his voice muffled behind his breathing mask.
"Of course, a direct message for the shinobi demigod of the ninja world!" the man spoke with a smile, though there was a certain tension in the air, his gaze falling to another Stone ninja who was staring intently at the Ame ninjas.
It was at that moment that a sharp sound came from one side as two arrows flew at high speed towards the two groups, piercing the trees near them without making much noise.
"Enemy attack!" the Stone ninjas exclaimed.
"Prepare for battle!" the Ame ninjas also shouted.
Figures emerged from the forest as ninjas wearing black cloaks appeared, not showing their affiliation, beginning to surround the two groups.
"It seems we've been discovered! You were followed!" the Ame ninjas accused.
"It wasn't us!" the fat man said, while the ninja beside him looked strangely at the situation.
"This is odd... I feel like they're clones, but I'm not sure..." the Stone sensor murmured. Even the Ame ninjas seemed like clones, but it was strange.
"What do you mean?" his companion asked.
"Here they come!" an Ame ninja exclaimed.
In the next moment, a fight broke out as the cloaked individuals advanced with kunai, more and more arrows flying from the forest. The distance between the Ame and Iwa ninjas was finally broken as they fought against their enemies together.
That was until one of the ninjas in black was struck, turning into smoke. "That's... he was a clone!" the Iwa ninjas commented.
"Yes... unfortunately for you..." the Ame ninja suddenly spoke before attacking the Iwa leader, catching him by surprise as the others attacked everyone else.
"Why are you doing this?" the ninja tried to argue, but he was quickly knocked out before using any jutsu.
"Nothing personal, just doing our mission," the Ame ninja spoke calmly to the fallen ninja while the others looked stunned.
Thus, both the Ame ninjas and the ones in black fought against the rest of the Iwa ninjas, defeating them after a few moments.
This strategy was due to Minato not wanting to reveal the Raijin or draw attention to the surroundings with the enemies using jutsus to report their position and the confrontation. After all, he knocked out any ninja who tried to make hand seals.
It didn't take long for the fight to finally end with all the Iwa ninjas defeated. All the Ame ninjas and those dressed in black transformed into several Minatos, as he had used the shadow clone jutsu before coming here.
"That was quick," Mikoto appeared at that moment. Though she hadn't participated in the combat, she commented. The person who came after her had played a greater role, while Hanabi appeared soon after with her bow.
Minato nodded and praised the latter. "Your attacks are getting quite powerful. They can even pierce through trees. Your future with this style looks promising when you learn to better use wind element and create jutsus with your arrows..." Minato complimented her, and the girl nodded, accepting the praise.
"Let's just organize things and head back," Minato said as his clones began tying up all the scattered ninjas, while the original went to the leader and retrieved the scroll from his clothes after sensing it with his Haki.
"We've got what we came for..." he said, putting the scroll away and looking at the ninjas being gathered by his clones. "We also have some ninjas to take with us." He mentioned that more Stone ninjas had been waiting in a certain distance, ready to intervene if any jutsu was used, but Hanabi's arrows were silent despite having strong penetration power.
"Shall we leave?" Mikoto asked, and Minato nodded.
"We have nothing else to do in this country. Let's just return to the Land of Fire..." Minato said, and everyone agreed as he kept all the bodies of the fallen ninjas near him. Mikoto and Hanabi touched his shoulders while he made the Raijin seal, making everyone disappear at that moment.
It was then that Minato appeared with everyone, surprising the people around as they looked curiously at Hanabi and Mikoto wearing Leaf Village vests, with Iwa bodies lying tied up in the area.
Ninjas quickly approached, already recognizing Minato to assess the situation. It wasn't the first time Minato had done something like this, appearing on the spot.
"Minato, I see you got a good batch this time," a ninja commented, looking at the fallen bodies with satisfaction. They could use these prisoners to gain something from Iwa or even exchange them for captured Konoha companions. After all, hostages were useful and quite difficult to obtain in the war, with ninjas sacrificing themselves all the time when they were defeated.
"Yes, can you take care of them?" Minato asked, as they would be taken to prison.
"Sure, leave it to me," the ninja nodded, starting to carry the bodies with other ninjas who appeared to help take them to captivity and keep them there with some seals.
"Let's go, everyone." Minato turned to the two girls before starting to head to Jiraiya's tent.
The man was analyzing maps while talking with some advisors and assistants when his students requested entry to the tent.
"Let them in... can we continue our conversation later?" he asked, as he wasn't getting anywhere at the moment, and everyone nodded in understanding.
The ninjas left while someone looked at Minato with interest. This was ______. "Minato, how are you, kid?! It's been a bit boring without you at the forward camp." This was the ninja who was now officially taking over the camp after Minato left to head south in search of the antidote.
"You'd better take care of that place. I prefer the battlefield," Minato responded, while the ninja nodded with a smile and began to leave.
Now, Jiraiya was left alone with his students. "Damn... who would've thought it would be so quick to see you all like this, going on missions by yourselves..." Jiraiya murmured. It was more than proven that they were capable of undertaking missions that even Jonin were assigned to. Despite Mikoto and Hanabi still being at a high Chuunin level, Minato made up for any weaknesses with his skills and strength.
"We're growing, sensei," Minato smiled at this comment.
"Anyway, was it another success?" Jiraiya asked.
"Yes, here's the scroll that Iwa was going to deliver to Hanzo," Minato took out the scroll and handed it to Jiraiya, who nodded after opening it and quickly checking the information.
"You all did well... It seems Oonoki wants a non-aggression pact in exchange for resources and money... I need to pass this to intelligence," Jiraiya commented before closing it and turning back to his students. "I just need a report now," he said.
"Can you do the report?" Minato asked Mikoto, as she was used to doing it when he couldn't.
"Yes," the girl nodded.
"With that, I believe we're done here, right, sensei?" Minato said, and Jiraiya nodded.
"You can rest until you're called upon again. It will take a few days, so enjoy it," he said, and they all nodded.
But just as Minato was about to take his first step, he felt something coming from the east beyond the camp—something he had feared happening, but it was happening now. His Raijin seal was calling for help. He knew very well to whom the seal belonged, and she wasn't in Konoha anymore.
"Something wrong?" Jiraiya looked at Minato, noticing that something had happened.
"Jiraiya-sensei, I ask for permission to be away for a few weeks," Minato said. Jiraiya looked at him with confusion.
"What are you talking about?" he asked, even his companions looking bewildered at Minato.
"Kushina is in danger. She's activating the emergency seal I placed on her. I'm going!" Minato simply said this and disappeared the next moment, leaving Jiraiya, Mikoto, and Hanabi standing there, stunned.
The scene shifted to Minato, who was already accustomed to this, appearing in a group as his Observation Haki sensed all the enemies. He had surprised several ninjas around him, who groaned in shock.
But Minato didn't waste any time, kicking each of them, knocking out everyone he hit, while two managed to escape, backing away and staring in shock. Before they hit the ground, Minato pointed two fingers and fired a bolt of lightning, piercing their skulls and giving them instant death.
He lowered his hand towards the forest and fired five more lightning bolts, more powerful than usual, causing several explosions around the area, illuminating any enemies until finally, everything was clear.
He finally landed on the ground the next moment and looked at the girl, who stared at him in surprise, her hands tied behind her back, being taken north with the intention of imprisoning her in Kumo.
"Minato..." She looked at him for a moment, tears beginning to fall from her eyes, and she ran towards him in the next instant.
