Teaching Hans How To Drink Blood

Human beings had to die in order to be reborn as vampires. For pure-blood vampires, the transformation granted them eternal life, incomparable beauty, and also a supernatural skill that was unique from person to person.

There was only one catch to the otherwise flawless deal. It also robbed them of their body warmth forever. This was another good reason why vampires liked to suck the warm blood directly from their prey.

Nick and Serena helped to move Aiden to a chaise lounge, where Hans was seated and waiting patiently. After the latter held Aiden in his arms, he calmed down a lot. There was some kind of reassurance that was connected to having the prey delivered to his claws. To knowing that he did not have to fight other vampires for the blood.

Aiden lay on Hans' lap, his head supported on the vampire's arm. Aiden's body trembled from Hans' cold body and the cold breath that blew against his throat. It was like lying on a block of ice.

Baron Winston patiently guided Hans' hand to touch his first human being. The red-eyed young vampire had sharp fingernails. One of the fingernails went to scratch at Aiden's neck and left a long trail of red mark on the beautiful skin.

"Ah, ah..." Baron Winston clicked with his tongue as he removed Hans' hand from Aiden. "Don't scratch. Here. Feel the pulse, feel the beating heart. Don't hurt him, see how lovely he is..."

Baron Winston's words sent chills down Aiden's spine, even more than Hans' cold fingers as they tapped around his neck and gently squeezed his chest.

If not for his grandfather and the two other vampires who stood guard, he might have wanted to rip open Aiden's chest and drink his blood straight from the beating heart.

The young man's breathing became haggard. He wished he had drunk more brandy.

Baron Winston's long bony finger traced Aiden's fair neck and found his jugular vein.

"Here, you see? Right here. Gently, gently..."

Hans bowed his head and Aiden scrunched up his brows.

A searing pain spread from Aiden's neck to his entire body as Hans buried his fangs into it and tore the skin open. He had only taken a sip of warm blood before Aiden started to get dizzy. He remembered flailing with a free arm in a weak attempt of defense before the arm was caught and gently put to rest. After that, his view faded into black and he did not remember what happened anymore.

In fact, Hans had only taken three mouthfuls of blood before he was forcefully dragged off Aiden. Hans trashed around violently in an attempt to get back to drinking to his heart's content. Nick dragged Aiden away to safety, while Baron Winston and Serena busied themselves with Hans.

"Good boy, that was very very good but that was enough for the first time. If you had drunk more, he would lose his young life," Baron Winston said while restraining the young vampire's both arms.

"You, lass, tie up his legs for me!"

Serena bit into her lip. That was all she could do in order to remain polite to the baron. She swiftly grabbed Hans' legs and tied him up with a rope. And then the Baron released his grandson and they tied up his hands behind his back.

"There you go," the Baron said with a smile.

"I am sorry for the trouble. Thank you for the help."

The Baron went over to check on Aiden. His pulse was weak and his face was ghastly pale, but the wound on his neck had been expertly sealed. Not a single drop of blood had been spilled on Aiden's clothes.

"Thank you for the great meal. I like him very much. Feel free to come back anytime."

Nick smiled at Baron Winston.

"Thank you as well, Baron. I will be sure to relay your appreciation."

Regular clients usually allowed the blood seller to spend the night at the client's residence to recuperate. Although the Baron was a regular, the one who drank Aiden's blood was his grandson, who was yet to learn to control his bloodlust. In order to ensure Aiden's safety, everyone agreed to let him stay in a hotel in Dominion. All expenses were naturally to be borne by Baron Winston.

It was already past midnight when they emerged from the castle. The full moon shone above them, and from far away the howling sound of wolves could be heard.
