Bond

Linda knew that Austin was asking all these questions purposely. He was acting very sweet but he wanted to know how suddenly, his company was losing all the cases against them.

"Ohh, I slept for such a long time today and mother had now cooked a delicious meal for me. I was parting till late night with Cheryl and today also we plan to meet and party." Linda let out a loud yawn trying to convince Austin.

"Hmm…. okay. I'm so glad that you are enjoying your time. I shall see you very soon. Have a nice day and say my hi to mother in law Cheryl." Austin seemed to be rather convinced by Linda's words as he could make out that the girl was not definitely in the office.

"I shall do that. Mother can you pass me another meat ball?" Linda purposely spoke in between to her mother, as if she was simply too engrossed in eating and she wanted to give a proof, that she was indeed at her house. "Alright then… goodbye…. I miss you…." Linda cut the call and took deep breaths turning to look at her mother.

 She knew that something was terribly wrong and she looked at Linda with questioning eyes. "Do I have to ask or are you going to tell me yourself?"

"Mother, I do not know what to say. I do not know if you will really trust me or believe that I actually did nothing wrong." A tear dropped down from Linda's eye, as, at this moment she really needed somebody's support.

Sana looked at Linda in much surprise. "Have I blamed you for anything Linda? You know that I do not like your tomboyish style but then that does not mean that I blame you for everything. I know you have given you 100% in this marriage, be it changing your style, sacrificing your work and if anything goes wrong it will be because of Austin and not you." Sana spoke in a firm tone and another tear dropped down from Linda's eye.

"Mother… I have really worked hard for this company and when Austin said that I should take a break for 3 months I did it happily because I loved him. But then I heard him talking to somebody that he has stolen all the information from my laptop and he will destroy my company in 20 days. Imagine, I have been working so hard for this company from past so many years and I have given my blood and sweat to it and …and…..my husband wants to destroy all my years of hard work. We  have struggled so much and now we can finally lead a comfortable life because of this company from past 10 years. Also ….w.. when I went to his office, I discovered that he was having an affair with his receptionist…." Linda took deep breaths, trying to control her emotions. "He had never really loved me and he just told me to take a leave so that he can win the case against me. He succeeded in winning the first case but then I have already won two cases against him. I just cannot let him ruin my career and my life." Linda busted into tears and Sana gasped in much shock.

"What?" Sana was left completely shocked hearing Linda's words. "So much happened and you did not even tell me? I just encouraged you to marry Austin because I could see love in your eyes for him. You are my child and I know that you were in love with him. Otherwise I would have never ready done all those things….. But ….I do not believe he could be such a cheap man. Why would he do that! Oh God!"  

Sana quickly got up from her seat and hugged Linda for a very long time gently patting her head. "How can you even think that I am going to blame you for all this? Yes, I did want you to marry a rich man but that was because I want you to have a nice life. And I thought that Austin actually loved you so much that he came all the way to your room to meet you. I could have never guessed that it was all nothing.. but a lie."

 Linda cried her heart out hugging her mother tightly and finally she felt extreme relief. She was so happy that her mother actually believed her. She felt as if a huge burden on her heart had been lifted and she could finally breathe.
