Inside the dining room, Oliver told his father that Evelyn's fever was lower now. Cooper was relieved to hear this.
"She must be scared after seeing that scene yesterday."
Cooper sighed as he had his lunch and said.
Oliver's hand stopped and he fell silent. Indeed, Evelyn's fever was all of a sudden. It must be because she was very scared after yesterday's incident.
Oliver frowned. Arthur's image flashed in his eyes again. But he tried his best to dismiss it. Regardless of what Arthur thought about him, Oliver still loved him as his brother and somewhere he had always blamed himself because of the treatment meted out to Arthur by his parents.
Somewhere he held himself responsible for everything.
Perhaps this was the reason that even though a huge part of Oliver's mind kept screaming that it was Arthur's hand in killing the dog, he continued to ignore it.
Perhaps he should not have brought that puppy in the first place. Oliver thought inside his heart.
