1.29 Strategizing

When Caspian entered the dining room with Salvatore, he saw that the empress dowager was there. He let go of Salvatore's hands.

Salvatore looked at him with a frown and tried to hold his hand again. Caspian looked at him threateningly and put his hands behind his back.

His eyes flashed with amusement when he looked at him pouting. Salvatore took a seat at the head of the table and Caspian in front of Alvira. He smiled.

"Your majesty."

Alvira smiled back.

"Caspian."

Caspian sat back in his chair waiting for the food, while Alvira and Salvatore discussed. He's pretty sure he knows why she's here. Alvira has eyes in the palace, so she must be aware of what went down.

Salvatore sent an envoy to all the ministers, to let them know that court was canceled and they would be a public trial in the afternoon. By now, the entire imperial city knows.

When the food was served, Salvatore looked around.

"Leave, all of you."

In a matter of seconds, everyone left.
