When the women were alone, Varya gave a sigh as she looked at her son. There were so many thoughts rushing through her mind. She couldn't believe the past two days.
They were so close to losing each other again. If her son hadn't shown such an impressive aura, she would have certainly been sent off to who knows where with Khion. What would Basileus have done then?
Varya held the ice pack the doctor had given her against her cheek.
"It's okay," Dr. Salus said. "Take your time."
Dr. Salus got comfortable in her chair. She didn't mind if it took all day for Varya to decide what she wanted to say.
Varya brushed her hands through her hair as she tried to even think of how to start the story. At least Dr. Salus was used to her rambling by that point.
