Ivan frowned deeply and went on interrogating Joseph, trying to get more information out of him.

However, to Ivan's disappointment, Joseph knew very little.

At the time of the attack on Borgin and Burkes, Joseph was out gathering information, and by the time he got back, the battle was over.

For over a month, Joseph was out of contact, wandering Knockturn Alley trying to find out what had happened that day, and gathering all the others he could find.

Ivan did not give up and injected the remaining black-robed wizards with Veritaserum.

Nobody knows if Caratacus Burke is alive or dead, except that his body was never found by the Ministry of Magic.

I guess I'll have to go to Borgin and Burkes…

An idea occurred to Ivan, and he decided to go to the scene himself and see if he could find any useful clues.

While the truth serum was still working, Ivan finally asked, "How did you confirm my disguise before?"

"We sent ten men to attack the Dark Arts shop," Joseph said dully. "Your answer was incorrect…"

"Ten people? But I only found the bodies of nine attackers there," Ivan muttered.

As the conversation went on, Sirius began to understand the situation and looked at Ivan with pity.

"Don't feel too bad, Hales, we'll find the killer and kill them all to avenge your mother," Sirius said reassuringly.

"No, there is another possibility!" Ivan interrupted Sirius's soothing words. There were indeed ten bodies, but…

With that in mind, Ivan decided to test the potion by placing a long strand of hair in a bottle.

He remembered that in the original timeline, there was someone who managed to fool everyone by pretending that someone else was buried with their corpse, creating the illusion that the person was dead…

After adjusting the potion, Ivan went up to the gorgeous witch named Kelly and forced the potion down her throat.

Ivan's wrists shook as he forced the potion down his throat, and he watched the gorgeous witch transform in front of him.

A moment later, she transformed into another strange witch with hair the same colour as Alicia's.

Ivan, trembling with excitement, his eyes shining, grabbed Kelly's face and examined it several times.

'What exactly are you planning to do?' Sirius asked, seeing Ivan's confused expression for a moment, and worried that Ivan might have been so shocked that he had gone mad.

Ivan ignored Sirius's words and muttered to himself.

Before placing Alicia's body in the basement, he used a strand of her hair as a backup, in an attempt to confirm something.

However, Ivan never had the courage to do so, as the Time-Turner could not change the established reality, and once the result was confirmed, the closed loop was completed, and even going back in time could not reverse it.

Ivan was well aware of this, and was even willing to abandon the idea of verification, in which case the outcome would always be unknown.

And the unknown meant it could be changed… When he used the Time-Turner to go back in time, he would be able to turn things the way he wanted.

It was only when Ivan learned from Joseph that there was one more attacker than he had expected that he decided to test his theory.

Because if you counted Alicia's body, there were exactly ten bodies, the same number as the attackers…

"No, it's not enough!" Ivan quickly quelled his excitement, as he still had many questions to confirm.

Now for the important part…

"Shattered to pieces!" Ivan moved silently behind Kallie, suddenly drawing his wand and casting a spell on her back.

The white light hit Callie's back, and she screamed. The pain shook her out of her dazed state.

Before she could react, Sirius swung his wand and hit her in the head with a blast of green magic. Her screams died and her body fell to the ground.

'That's enough, Hulse! I know you're furious, but I want you to calm down,' Sirius advised him, his face grim.

Sirius could understand Ivan's pain, but he hated to see him lose himself in hatred.

Whether it was murder or torture, Sirius felt this was not something a child of Ivan's age should be doing, and would prefer to do it himself if necessary…

Ivan shook his head. "No, I have no interest in torturing her. I'm just making sure of something."

"Watch him, Dobby. Don't let him cause trouble…"

"Yes, sir!" Dobby nodded, his bell-sized eyes fixed on Sirius's every move, his fingers dancing with magical light, ready to stun him.

'I'm not that easy to deal with…' Sirius grimaced. With his wand, he was not afraid of a house-elf.

However, Sirius hesitated for a moment and decided not to interfere with Ivan's subsequent actions.

Instead of torturing or killing the next victim as Sirius had expected, Ivan stared straight at the dead Kallie.

Kallie's body lay lifeless on the floor, but the Polyjuice Potion was still working on her.

Ivan was not surprised, as he already knew this.

In the original timeline, Crouch Jr. stated that his mother did not return to her original form after her death because she had been taking Polyjuice Potion while he was in Azkaban, and that she was buried with him.

This means that taking enough Polyjuice Potion may cause one person to die and then retain their appearance for a short period of time…

As long as he could go back in time, intervene in the battle, save Alicia, and use Polyjuice Potion to find a scapegoat, he would be able to recreate what he saw when he returned to the Dark Arts shop!
