567. Traumatized

Mauve felt her throat close up as she took the first spoon. She chewed as slowly as she could and as carefully, making sure not to swallow in a hurry.

It still didn't stop her throat from clamping up when she tried to swallow. She did manage to push through it and accepted the second spoon from Jael.

He let her take her time to eat, careful not to rush her. She ate about half of it before she gave up.

"I can't," she said when Jael insisted. Her stomach felt off, it churned, making a weird sound.

Jael frowned, glancing down at the source of the sound. "Okay," he said and took the spoon himself.

He finished the rest of her food while she just sat watching him. She didn't take her eyes off him until he finished eating.

"Don't look at me like that," he said at the end. "Can't let any go to waste." He laughed.

"Did I complain?" She asked with a soft laugh.

"But you wouldn't stop staring." He raised his brow to accentuate his point.
