117. Four Nights

Jael frowned at the loud knock on his bedroom door. He could tell immediately who was behind the door and he knew he was not going to like whatever this was about. He just finally got a break, he could use the rest.

After reviewing a couple things with Danag and giving him orders in preparation to set out to the Xanthus estate, Lord Kieran abode, he just wanted some time alone before it was time for the last meal of the day, apparently that was too much to ask.

He groaned and did not say anything with the hopes that she would go away when she noticed he wasn't answering. She did not. She knocked again, louder this time. He rubbed his head, if he attended to her quickly, she might leave in the same manner.

"Come in, Jevera." He said without moving from his bed. 

"Sire," she said as soon as she stepped inside. She carefully closed the door behind her. She gave a light curtsey.
