Chapter 11: survival

Zenn munched crazily on the green fruit. The fruit was not sweet, it was only sour and seemed worse than a lemon. Coupled with its apple like texture, it felt weird in Zenn's mouth.

But although it was terrible, he did not notice any of that. He was too hungry to care.

In a few minutes, the fruit was soon devoured. Not even the seeds were left behind. Luckily, the seeds were edible too.

With one of the fruits gone, six were now left.

The two goblins looked at the six left over fruits with shocked faces. From beginning to end, they watched Zenn eat the gigantic fruit.

After a second of comprehending what just happened, the queen Zuri prostrated immediately. Ena was a little bit behind her, but he also went down.

At first, Ena was not convinced. Although Zenn was very big and could squash him with a simple stomp, he was still not sure if he the giant before her was truly the creator. After all, the creator in the legends was known to create miracles with just wave or stomp of his feet. What has Zenn done? Most of what he was doing the moment he came to this world was pass out. Is he really the creator?

But now, there was none of those thoughts. What Zenn had just done was enough to topple what he believed possible. So how could he still not believe? After all, the left over liquid from the fruit was still fresh and damp on the soil.

"Are these all the fruit you have?"

"Yes my Lord. Due to komoru's power, most of the plants in the world have died, but the are are few scattered around. If we try hard enough we could find a tree that still has fruits."

"What about water."

Zenn asked. There two things Zenn was concerned about, water and food. Shelter was almost useless for him in this world. Not a lot of things could harm him after all. So he put the first two as his priority to survive.

"Most of the water has been contaminated. It is most unsafe to drink."

"I see."

But this was not much of a problem to Zenn. He has just eaten the green fruit he does not know the name of, as such, he knows it has a lot of water inside it. These left over six fruits are good enough to last them in both food and water for a while.

Zenn's only problem was how long the fruits can stay fresh and edible.

From what Zuri yold him, it seemed that the fruits will stay fresh for three to five days at most. But after that, they will rot. As such, he must definitely find either a tree or a stable food source as soon as possible.

Zenn looked at the sea and though of another food source most common back on earth.

"What about fish?"

"What my lord?"

"Are there any edible fish?"

The queen stood for a second and tried to understand what Zenn was saying.

"What is a 'fish'?"

"..."

Zenn was speechless. What is a fish? Zenn found her question quite stupid, but considering how he was in a different world, may be the concept of 'fish' was not made. After all, maybe fishs did not even exist.

"Animals living in the water." Zenn pointed at the sea.

As if realisation struck her, she said, "Is the lord speaking of the sea monsters?"

"Monsters? Why do you call them that?"

"Well..." Zuri found herself having a hard time explaining. "Because they are strong and can eat hundreds of us un one gulp."

Zenn thought over what Zuri said.

"Are they big?"

"Yes my lord. Compared to me, i am only as large as one of their teeth."

"I see."

Zenn looked at the size of the queen. In comparison, she was only as tall as one of her fingers. If she was only as tall as a tooth, then the fishes were normal sized. After all, with a size like that, it could be comparable to a young shark.

Even Zenn at his size can't beat something like that.

Although the results may change if he were to inxrease his own size. After all, he currently has the ability to change size of all things. This includes even him. So he can definitely get bigger if he wishes. But it was just that Zenn wasn't sure if that was a good idea.

It is fine to change the size of inorganic things like rocks, but what about a human like himself. Unlike a rocks or the fruit which will not have much use other than being eaten, he has a lot of functions on his body. I he grows, what about his genes? Do they also grow? If they do, how will that impact his survivability?

Plus, the power to increase the size of object was not above the laws of physics.

Energy cannot be created or destroyed.

This law applies even to this power. In its original size, the fruit was far from satiating Zenn's hunger. This was because he needs a lot of energy of which the fruit did not have. But when it's size was increased, it had enough energy to fill Zenn up. Where did this energy come from?

When Zenn was increasing the fruit's size, he felt it. Something somewhere was used up to increase the size of the of the fruit. He did not know what, but he knew that he should tread this path carefully.

So making himself bigger is a no good for the time being.

"Find a tree that can bare fruit for us then."

Zenn told the goblins.

"I'll do as the lord orders."

The two then went off towards the mountains in search of a stable food source.

Since the problem of food has been sorted temporarily, Zenn has to solve his most pressing issue.

'How do i get back home?'
