A small pink butterfly with green patterns flew in the sky with a tiny pouch attached to it.
The weight of the pouch did not seem to affect the flight in the slightest, through the night it had flown unnoticed as it reached outside a window.
It had been lurking in the dark and continued to follow a group of people until it reached its destination from the tavern they had visited.
The pouch opened on its own and the contents flew out towards the gap in the window then spread around the room then made its way outside of the room into the hallway.
The window opened slowly and the butterfly entered then landed on the ground.
Within the dark room, the butterfly transformed its shape suddenly and transformed into a young lady who had pointed ears, red eyes, green hair and pink skin.
Shapeshifting was an easy task for Blush whether it was to transform herself or temporarily transform others.
Even without her earrings, she could still transform into a variety of different shapes and the only reason why she chose to keep them was because they reduced the cost of magic to maintain her transformation when she was outside.
It was much more efficient to use a magic item rather than constantly maintain the spell.
If there was a sudden loss of focus or a need to cast another spell then her disguise could possibly be unveiled to everyone around her.
Blush walked towards the knight and kept her magic on him to observe every detail then she showed a satisfied smile. 'It seems that the dosage was perfectly distributed.'
The knight was in a deep sleep and it seemed as if he would sleep through the night without being woken up until the effects of the powder ran out.
Blush walked over towards the side of the bed and reached out her hand towards his head.
As she touched his hand with her hand, a spell was activated by her and her mind became connected to the mind of the knight.
Lots of memories and information flooded her mind which she quickly and efficiently sorted out while searching through it for the things that she was looking for.
A memory appeared suddenly and it was the knight who was standing in a room while talking to the new city lord.
The city lord's appearance was difficult to see since the knight had his head lowered slightly in a servile manner but Blush could see the documents and other things like the city lord's seal which gave away his identity.
The city lord spoke. "So that is the plan to subjugate the witches but what we need to do is set a trap for traitors so this is what we should do… reveal a location here that will be close to a witches grounds and announce that it is the place where everyone will meet up or travel to first."
The knight understood. "So you want the traitors to leak the information and for those connected to them to walk into an ambush?"
The city lord nodded. "Anyone that appears there will be shown no mercy, your task is to lead everyone to this location as intended. Those that split off from your group for whatever reason will be considered as traitors no matter their reasoning."
The knight lowered his head more and saluted. "I understand master."
More memories flooded Blush's mind one after another along with the contents of the real map and the locations of the witches until there was no more to look into.
Her hand was removed from the head of the knight and several power fragments gathered in the room once again as they entered the pouch on her waist.
While it was good to release such things to allow her to carry out her task without being disturbed, it would still leave behind evidence scattered all around so it was unwise to leave it behind.
All of it was collected back into the pouch and then she took a step towards the window.
She transformed into a small butterfly once again and flew outside, the window closed once she had left and everything within the room was returned to its original place like there had been no intruder in the room.
Even the dust or mud on the dirty ground had shifted slightly to remove the footprints while the scent that came that from her body or the powders had been removed from the room removing any traces of her ever being there.
The knight and his subordinates slept through the night in peace and comfort while the lookouts in other parts of the building had continued to switch on their lookout duties within the building but one man had later been found sound asleep outside the knights room.
They did not expect anyone to get past their defences so when they woke him up, they did not take him falling asleep on duty to be that serious since he was close to the knight and would wake up in a moments notice If there was a problem.
The knight was not very trusting of others and only kept around one person by his side so they could not scold them who had outranked them.
Meanwhile after Blush had left, she returned to the place where she was staying at while she was writing some notes in a book which contained details on the witches.
There was a several lines drawn on the paper which separated the names into different categories along with some reasonings for them being placed there.
Her finger trailed along the paper and stopped at a name which caught her interest. "This one should do nicely for now."
The paper was placed under a lit candle then burned away leaving nothing but ash behind which scattered into the wind.
A smirk was seen on the face of Blush as she stepped towards the window and changed her form before flying outside. 'They really worked hard to trick anyone that would help the witches and they are so determined to remove them so why don't I take the lead this time? How can I possibly let them succeed?'
The plan of the new city lord was very simple and it would be used to capture anyone which was a spy or traitor but it would also catch those that were too eager for success that would run ahead of the group.
Either person would be caught in the trap set by the city lord as an ambush was prepared in that location while the knight would lead everyone towards a new location.
The information that had been handed out had parts which were real while some were fake which lead many to believe it.
Even if the news reached the ears of a witch and they intended to set a trap of their own on that location, they would just be walking into the trap themselves so either way it was to the city lord's advantage unless the witch had a monstrous amount of magic power which was very rarely found.
The traps they set could easily deal with a witch the moment they stepped close enough since the city lord had spent a long time preparing.
Nobody had expected that a witch skilled in shapeshifting and mind reading was among the group and had obtained their carefully laid out plan along with the information they had spent a long time gathering on the witches.
A pink butterfly with green patterns on it flew off into the dark night then transformed into a pink bird which flew faster through the night sky.
