Chapter 2

Isaac's POV

There was a Mercedes-Benz parked right across the street. When my eyes fell on it, fascination grew inside me like an ignited Fire. I've always wanted to get myself one of these. We could pretty much call it Dream. An ambition, a goal. I ache to trace my fingers over the texture of the car but my conscience warned me against it. The last thing that I wanted was some rich prick yelling at me for possible damage and his luxurious car just for touching it. Today was the day that I wanted to fight anyone. I was too packed in my thoughts. A lot of the assignments were pulling in and I had work to do. I didn't want to draw attention to myself at the moment. I noticed how beautiful it was coloured.

My mind flashbacks to the days when I had first seen that car. The centuries that I had walked the face of the earth brought no advantage for uncertainty. At first, I thought that it was just a luxurious waste of money. But sooner or later, luxury didn't seem like such a big deal. It was inviting. Alluring. Beautiful in every possible way. And yet it was nothing simple than a car. but the luxury I can finance myself does not include walking around in flashy cars like this one.

It will draw much more attention to me. my eyes glance down at my watch, my fingers tracing the circle encrypted around it. My face Falls with a frown. I was going to be late. if I didn't kill that bastard on time then I wouldn't get the payment. sometimes assassination was just a tad satisfying to me. It brought blood pumping through my veins and energy coursing through me. It was exciting. fulfilling and satisfying.

I take one step backwards as I tear my eyes away from it. People had already begun staring. I guess there was just something incredibly spooky about a mysterious Guy attempting to touch a luxury car. And so against my will, I walk away, a smirk creeping up my face as I toy around with the idea of actually buying myself one.

My senses are heightened immediately when I catch a conversation around me. It was an argument.

'Approach him from behind and I'm going to be waiting around the corner.' One masculine voice said with impatience.

'This isn't the first time you have had me creep up on someone from behind. Why can't you do it?' another one argued, footsteps increasing as I studied my surroundings. I was always vigilant. It was always best to be prepared at all times.

'Just do whatever the hell he says. We don't have time to start again around or else the fucker going to escape. He seems like someone who's got a fortune.'

' but… but..'

Nothing more was said before I took a turn towards the next corner of the street and right there, two guys were standing right in front of me staring at me. When I take a step backwards, I bump into yet another figure, the wolf inside me threatening to break out. control wasn't one of my best policies.

I turn around and my eyes fall on yet another man standing defensively blocking my way. I am circled within a group of four men, The obvious possibility that they may be robbers creeping up in my mind.

Well, this was going to be fun…

I can't help but wonder what the hell they were doing outside at this time of the night. Humans have been disappearing. And yet it would seem that this fuckers don't learn. vulnerability is a lesson on its own. Humans should very well understand that their lack of ability to protect themselves, especially against the supernatural, should make them vigilant and careful.

But yet, as they say, experience is the best teacher.

When I made a move to manoeuvre against the two guys that were standing right behind me, a hand was placed on my shoulder and then a creepy smile later on.

'And where do you think you're going? It's not polite to simply ignore people.' he says, his fellow men creeping up on me as they surround me.

' There is no one that I have ignored. I'm just simply going on my way as I was. Now if you'll excuse me, gentlemen…'

' not so fast… We're going to make this convenient for you by giving you two choices..' the man standing in front of me says. I can tell apart from his voice. He sounded like the leader. The man who had been giving directions right before I took the corner. I looked at him, wondering whether he was going to be my next victim. I have had a whole shitload of them. Countless. The bodies that I left behind could probably Hunt my dreams if I wasn't Supernatural.

'And what are those?' I asked with an amused smile, thinking about how ridiculous they look trying to sound all scary and intimidating.

My eyes scanned around my environment. I noticed the little pieces of metal rods that were laying on the ground. Then there was a bit of trash at the far corner of the walls where most of the drug addicts normally rested. There was graffiti drawn over the walls which often made me question where this generation was going. but I had seen enough of the world. I had seen kingdoms rising and others Fallen. I have seen trends that came and went. Others are being Revived. There isn't a single f****** thing in this world that can scare me. Nothing is new Under the Sun.

'You are going to stand still and you'll let us search you, we will carry anything valuable. Anything that we deem fit. If you don't give us a hard time then you might just walk out of here in one piece.' he says, a large heavy piece of wood wrapped around his muscular fingers as he points at me.

' I hate being pointed at. Don't point that f****** thing at me if you want to go back home and see your families.' I said through gritted teeth, breathing deeply as I tried to control myself. They were not worth it. They were not worth the efforts and the fights.

I hear the burst of laughter around the group as they stare at me. I bring my hand over my lower stomach once again, glancing at my watch as I notice that I'm getting late.

'Listen, guys, I'm running late and I have to go!' I said to them, taking a step forward but they once again blocked my way.

'You did not ask what the second choice was, you clown.' the leader said to me, taking a step forward and invading my personal space.

'And what's the second choice?' I asked, wanting to get this over and done with. Boredom seeped from my voice like a river, it haunted the atmosphere.

Bad things always happened whenever I got bored. Creativity would always creep in. Like maybe about the various ideas that I have about what I would do to them. Am I going to use my claws? Will I drive my fingers so deep into the flesh of the young leader that blood is directly going to spill out? Or am I going to make it a slow painful death? Strangle with my fingers while I feed from the other? Maybe I'm just going to kill them slowly. Break their bones one step at a time. Or maybe I'm going to tear their throat out. Scratch their faces. distort them. make them unrecognizable.

He looks right behind me, smiling in a sinister way right before an excruciating pain travels over my back, and the sound of wood hitting my lower back echoes over the area. I clench my fist in frustration, shutting my eyes as I take the pain. I fight the urge to fall to my knees. Inferior creatures like this did not deserve the privilege of such disguised desperation.

'That was the other option…' he says bursting into a fit of laughter accompanied by his fellow friends. And here I was thinking that I didn't have to make any victims for myself tonight. But what can I say? Mother nature seems to be spoiling his days.

The pain in my back was only basic. I'm surprised the wood did not break. I am surprised that they did not take another hit at me. I was counting on it. I focus on making sure my eyes don't change and my fangs and claws do not appear. The pain was only temporary. It helped me concentrate. It fuelled my anger. It always helped me make decisions that were not irrational. One step at a time.

' I'm glad that I'm not the person who started this...' I speak, standing upright as I contemplate which side of nature I was going to let loose.

Was I going to be a vampire or a werewolf tonight?

Either way, none of them were surviving….
