"But..." only to hear Professor McGonagall say, "I'm coming with you."
"That's great nya!"
?(?≧?≦?)?
Fish was even happier, "Minerva hasn't played with Fish much this summer!".
Fish was still very upset about this.
Professor McGonagall smiled apologetically and pinched Fish's ears.
Mother and son were bonding when the mean old man showed up to ruin the mood.
"This... Minerva," Dumbledore recalled hesitantly, "Working...at Hogwarts."
"You can give it to Snape!". Professor McGonagall glared angrily back at him.
If you hadn't dumped all my schoolwork on me, would I have stopped playing with my own cats like this?!
"Ha~!"
Fish looked at Dumbledore with the same fury, it's a rare chance to hang out with mom, what do you want to do, you mean old man?
As much as Dumbledore wanted to say that Snape had another job to do, he smiled and kept his mouth shut under the glares of McGonagall and her son....
Well, it was only for a day anyway, so he would find someone else to cover for him.
Dumbledore began mentally selecting a suitable replacement....
There was no way he could handle the school by himself, he had a lot on his hands, dealing with the Ministry of Magic, recruiting good wizards to join the Order of the Phoenix and finding Voldemort's Horcruxes.
Dumbledore had been snooping around since he discovered in his diary that Voldemort had made many Horcruxes, and he also successfully found Hufflepuff's golden goblet and Ravenclaw's crown, and already destroyed them.
The Gryffindor relic was mostly in his possession, so there was no problem, and Dumbledore believed that Voldemort would not necessarily use the Gryffindor items as Horcruxes, as it would be easier to expose his plans to himself.
The only problem was the Slytherin Horcrux, as Slytherin had left Hogwarts so long ago, there were very few clues to their belongings, and the few known Horcruxes were kept in the pureblood houses, making it very difficult for Dumbledore to identify them.
Dumbledore also had a vague feeling that Voldemort had probably made more Horcruxes than he thought, and he had recently found an uncertain lead that he would still be pursuing if he hadn't gotten caught up in Harry's affairs....
Fudge, the power-hungry fool!
Even Dumbledore, who was always calm, couldn't help but grumble at Fudge, who was dragging his feet at a crucial moment.
Pushing his thoughts aside, Dumbledore went on with his work.
It would take some time to prepare the Dursleys to be distracted from Harry's trial, as the Ministry could not afford to catch them again.
In addition, the method of bringing Harry in had to be discussed: the easiest way to do it was to break the rules with the Apparition Charm, and the use of the Flu Net was out of the question, as it would have been watched, so the final method of movement was the Flying Broom....
"Why don't we ride Shadow and the others?" asked Fish suspiciously, "They can fly faster, obviously."
(??w??)?
"Because it's also not allowed to have magical animals like thestrals in the area where Muggles live." explained Lupin for Dumbledore. "Normally, the Ministry of Magic might turn a blind eye, but now we can't risk it."
Fish thought for a moment and then suggested a new one, "How about taking a flying car? That thing is much more comfortable than a broom."
The flying broom, aside from the initial novelty, had always displeased Fish: it didn't fly fast and was uncomfortable to ride.
It was fine when he was a cat, but now he was a little reluctant to use the broom because he couldn't transform by having a mandrake leaf in his mouth.
"The flying car itself is already against the rules, Arthur was punished by the Ministry of Magic for that very thing."
Mrs. Weasley gritted her teeth at the thought, wanting to go get Ron out of bed and give him a good spanking.
Well, Ron would have to be given more homework in case Harry got picked up later and started something else... and George and Fred, they couldn't be left behind either!
Mrs. Weasley thought to herself.
"Adults have a complicated world..."
(?w?)
Fish exclaimed, not realizing that he had screwed the Weasley children again, looking disgusted.
It would take some time to brief and organize the other members who were not present, separate the Dursleys and prepare the flying broom, so Dumbledore, after assigning them the tasks, reminded them, "Harry should be writing to ask what's going on here, so in case the letters are intercepted, none of you should answer him yet, and Molly, remember to warn the children tomorrow. "
With that out of the way, Dumbledore left Black Manor in a hurry.
There was no need to wait until the next day, and not long after Dumbledore had left, Hedwig brought a letter from Harry.
"I have just been attacked by a Dementor, and I may be expelled from Hogwarts. I want to know what has happened and when I can get out of here."
The same words were copied onto three pieces of parchment, addressed to Ron, Fish and Sirius, only, due to Dumbledore's orders, Sirius was unlikely to respond to the letter, Ron was still asleep, and Fish....
A letter from Fish? Don't even think about it!
And when Hedwig saw that Sirius wasn't going to answer, she swooped down and gave him a peck.
"Hey, what are you doing?"
Sirius was confused by the peck.
"Harry says he wants an answer, and if you don't write back, he'll make Hedwig keep pecking you to write back nya."
(?≧?≦?)
Fish watched the fun from the side and then translated for Hedwig.
"Then why doesn't he peck you?" Sirius shouted in disgust as he dodged Hedwig's sharp beak.
"Nya?"
?w?
Fish cocked his head to the side in confusion.
"Never mind...forget I asked..."
Sirius sighed knowing he had made a fool of himself, and fled to his room.
And after chasing him for a while, Hedwig flew back, landing next to Fish, cooing and whining.
He hadn't even had time to eat the prey he had caught before Harry sent him off to deliver a message.
So Fish pulled a large handful of nuts and dried meat out of his pocket and put them in front of Hedwig.
"Albus won't let us write to Harry." Explained Fish to Hedwig, who was feasting. "But in a few days we're going to go get Harry, so you can stay here for a few days, no need to hurry nya."
"Coo-coo..."
Hedwig replied, rubbing her head against Fish's hand and then continued eating nuts and jerky.
As for the task Harry had given her ...
She could go peck at Sirius and Ron a couple of times when she had nothing else to do for the next few days.
