According to what? I haven't agreed yet!
Mr. Granger looked at his wife very dissatisfied, how could he give up his beloved little daughter so easily?
He thought with great displeasure, and then looked at the cat-eared boy in the middle of the crowd...
This boy is so popular, and there is no shortage of girls who like him at first sight What if my daughter is deceived?
The protective instincts of the dorky dad had a slight advantage over Fish's animal affinity.
Unfortunately, in the Granger household, Mr. Granger didn't have much say in the matter, and Mrs. Granger ignored her husband's stare and dragged Hermione over to Fish and Professor McGonagall.
"Hello, you're Fish, aren't you? I'm Hermione's mother, and she talks about you a lot."
Mrs. Granger's eyes wandered over Fish's quivering cat ears, and the more she looked at them, the more she liked them.
"What are you talking about, Mom!"
Hermione covered her flushed cheeks in embarrassment and stomped her foot loudly.
"Hi nya~"
?(●ΦwΦ●)?
Fish replied politely, not paying much attention to Mrs. Granger's subsequent words.
"Gee, your son is so cute!".
Mrs. Granger resisted the urge to pinch Fish's cat ears, averted her gaze, and turned to Professor McGonagall.
"Thank you."
Professor McGonagall smiled proudly and reached out to stroke Fish's cat head, drawing a look of envy from Mrs. Granger.
"Hermione is also a wonderful girl, always at the top of the school, and my classmates and I are very fond of her."
Apart from anything else, Professor McGonagall was already very pleased with Hermione as an honor student, so she complimented her half out of politeness and half as a genuine compliment.
"Yes, Hermione is much better than Ron and the others," Mrs. Weasley chimed in on the subject, "Percy has always praised her highly."
Unfortunately, Bill and Charlie had graduated, and Percy was the only one the Weasleys had to offer at the moment.
"Ah, I heard from Hermione that Percy has been elected Prefect this year, congratulations, Mrs. Weasley."
The astute Mrs. Granger complimented very cooperatively.
"Hehehe, never mind, Hermione will definitely be elected Prefect like Percy in the future."
Mrs. Weasley and Mrs. Granger laughed and complimented each other.
"Minerva, can we go to Diagon Alley now?"
?(●?w?●)?
As the two mothers had a friendly exchange, Fish tugged on Professor McGonagall's sleeve.
The little cat wasn't at all interested in the polite chatter of the adults, he was too busy asking Ron about Scabbers.
Professor McGonagall and Mrs. Granger looked at each other, and the unspoken understanding as parents made them make the same decision.
"Go shopping alone, I'll have a good talk with Mrs. Granger here, if you want to eat, you can buy it yourself."
Professor McGonagall pulled out two gold galleons and placed them in Fish's hands.
"Hermione, you'll be able to exchange the coins and buy the textbooks yourself, won't you?"
Mrs. Granger also pulled out a wad of pounds and handed it to her daughter.
Seeing this, Mrs. Weasley also handed Percy a small bag of money and said, "Percy, you can take your brothers to buy their textbooks, and remember Ron's wand."
"Leave it in my hands, Mom."
Percy nodded haughtily and took the bag of money from Mrs. Weasley with a very solemn air.
Fish twitched his ears and heard the twins grumble under their breath, "It's really unfortunate that we have to go shopping for 'important materials' with the Prefect..."
Just as Fish wondered what the twins meant by their words, he heard Hermione say to Mrs. Granger, "The money you gave me is too much. According to the exchange rate between sterling and galleons, only half is enough, Mum."
"Oh, isn't your birthday the 19th of next month? Take the rest of the money and buy yourself a present" Mrs. Granger replied with a smirk, raising her voice at the mention of Hermione's birthday.
Seeing Fish's thoughtful look at her reminder, Mrs. Granger nodded in satisfaction, deeply hiding her merit and fame.
So the adults continued chatting in the Leaky Cauldron, while the children marched off to Diagon Alley.
"Ron, how did Scabbers disappear?"
?w?
As soon as they left the bar, Fish quickly grabbed Ron and asked.
"I don't know either..."
At the mention of this matter, Ron's mood immediately sank.
Scabbers was arguably a rare thing that he just owned, even if it was secondhand like his other things, but Ron had kept it for so many years that he still had feelings for it.
"He just disappeared, he was there at breakfast the other day, when Mum and Dad were discussing Sirius Black's escape from prison and I was feeding him bread."
Ron lifted his head slightly, looking up at the sky and remembering.
"We went to visit the Sphinx after breakfast, and Scabbers seemed a bit uncomfortable, so I left him at Bill's, and when we came back, he was gone."
"So, besides Scabbers, did you lose anything else nya?"
"No, this is where we feel weird. If he really is a thief, why would he steal an ugly old rat for a pet?"
Fred interjected, "So I wonder if the cats ate him when he escaped... In Egypt, both wizards and muggles are very fond of having cats."
"Is that so nya?"
(●?w?●)
Fish's eyes lit up, and he suddenly felt a great affection for Egypt.
And Scabbers' problem?
Well, it wasn't like Ron and the others had lost anything else, so the rest didn't matter.
Then they all chatted about Harry inflating his aunt, the twins and Ron applauding Harry, while Percy and Hermione expressed their concern over this matter, thinking Harry's behavior was questionable.
As they spoke they headed to Gringotts, Hermione needing to exchange the pounds she had for gold galleons first, during which she only had to give a bundle of colorful papers to the Gringotts goblins, not take a ride in the mine cart...much to Fish's disappointment.
After exchanging the galleons, they immediately headed for Flourish and Blotts Bookshop.
After seeing such a large group of people, the bookstore clerk's face instantly changed, as if he was seeing the end of the world. On the other hand, the manager's face was not much better....
He had already changed staff several times in the meantime, and with the start of the school year approaching and most of the students having finished buying their textbooks, he thought that this bad summer vacation would finally be over, but to his surprise there was a large number of customers on the last day....
Good thing I didn't take off my bandages!
The only thing the bookstore manager was glad about was pretending that the wound on his hand hadn't healed after he had dressed it.
Harry, of course, understood why they looked like that, while Hermione and the Weasley siblings were confused.
"Ahem," reassured Harry somewhat uncomfortably, "Don't worry, we only need four copies of "'The Monstrous Book of Monsters'."
He and Fish already had them, Ginny wasn't old enough and Percy didn't have to take Care of Magical Creatures classes anymore, so only Hermione, Ron and the twins needed to buy 'The Monstrous Book of Monsters'.
"Four books?!"
The clerk repeated with a shout and a grimace, clearly Harry's reassuring words hadn't helped much.
However, no matter how reluctant the clerk was, he made his way, to the manager's scorn, to the cage where the books 'The Monstrous Book of Monsters' were.... Harry saw about ten more inside, and as before, they were still fighting amongst themselves.
Then Hermione and the others realized why the bookstore clerk had behaved like this....
It was really too tragic.
