Herbs were abundant in the outer perimeter, but the deeper you go within the forest the denser the resources.

After levelling up to five Zoom has decided to distribute some of his points, two for agility, perception and stamina, these three stats are of great boost for both scavenging and hunting.

Zoom is jumping from tree branch to tree branch, thought not as fast as when as compared to running on the ground is certainly gives you a good line of sight.

That line of sight is useful when trying to scavenge for herbs and to spot any beasts.

Zoom has already finished seventy percent of the quest after about forty minutes, it wasn't awfully fast but decently fast.

Above the trees five flying beasts has noticed Zoom.

Kaa! Kaa! Poof!

'A bird?!' Zoom had his guard up most of the time but never expected and aerial attack catching him off guard.

Kaa! Kaa! Kaa!

Five eagles surrounded Zoom from the sky, they were two feet tall with a wing span double their size, they aggressively circled around him from above.

Regaining his composure Zoom aimed his bow onto one of them.

Pew!

The shot was quick and flawless but the bird simply flapped his wings with incredible force, strong gusts of wind shot towards the incoming arrow practically rendering it ineffective as it fell to the ground.

'I think I'd need to use a skill!' Together with the beginner weapon and armour, a set of beginner skills that correspond to them were also received by Zoom.

[Quick Arrow: When using this skill, if you shoot an arrow projectile using a bow it will buff it's speed, damage and piercing power. Drains 5 stamina, 10 seconds cool down.]

Upon using this skill the arrow he used was engulfed in white particles, the arrow felt light yet sturdy at the same time.

Pew!

Another shot was unleashed this time was coupled with a skill, the bird who had effortlessly interrupted the arrow before was caught unprepared.

It first thought it was the same slow and easy to nullify arrow but the arrow shot right now was fast, strong and fearsome, the eagle instinctively evaded knowing it can't nullify this arrow.

But the arrow was swift.

Swoosh

The arrow pierced through it's torso hitting countless organs, it was an instant kill.

The eagle's corpse fell from the air and crashed on the ground, an arrow still attached to it.

It fellow comrades were stunned, but they weren't scared, more like they were furious seeing their friend killed in front of them.

One of the eagles shot towards Zoom, it glided through the air adding momentum to it's attack.

'Dodge!' Zoom quickly jumped to a different branch before the eagle could attack him.

Boom

The eagle crashed straight through the tree branch, it's momentum added to the force of the impact, the eagle broke through the branch and crashed on the ground.

It felt dizzy upon landing but before it could regain proper vision...

Pew!

It's fuzzy vision slowly turned dark before it could comprehend what had happened the eagle collapsed on the ground with an arrow piercing through it's head.

'Another eagle down three more to go.' Killing the second eagle was easier than the first one, a skill wasn't even used since the eagle was dizzy and preoccupied.

Kaa! Kaa! Kaa!

The three remaining eagles flew towards Zoom, with coordination they swirled around him pecking and scratching Zoom.

An average player would have already fallen from the ravaging and simultaneous attacks of these birds but after countless experience in both the virtual and real world, Zoom has good perception and reaction speed, coupled with the few martial arts techniques he has learned, around eighty percent of the attacks were evaded.

One of the birds had it's eyes bloodshot, it shot it's beak like a spear, thrusting it towards Zoom's head.

'Hmm.' Zoom smirked, he leaned to the side easily evading it.

With his left hand he grabbed the eagle's beak, and on his right he held a short dagger, he raised the dagger up before stabbing it on the eagle's neck.

The level five eagles all had one hundred health points, with half it's HP in a single strike gone!

'If one strike can't kill it then two!' Zoom once more stabbed it with the same amount of force as the last one dealing a fatal blow.

In the midst of battle Zoom levelled up to six.

Zoom's dagger skills wasn't worst than his bow skills but were quite even, the two other eagles soon succumb to Zoom's combinations of stabs, thrusts and shots of arrow killing them both.

It was a tough fight but Zoom managed to pull through it, and here comes the best part... LOOTING!

Zoom stored all the corpses inside his inventory, but not before he took out their beasts cores, his inventory was now half filled with mostly carcasses, cores and herbs.

'I'll saved the cores up for now...' He thought.

Zoom resumed his hopping from tree to tree after looting everything he could from the fight, he had a thrilled expression from the fight and felt motivated.

'Fights are truly thrilling!' He thought.

'Gathering herbs are so boring!... But I shouldn't complain for now, quests are tough to find after all.'

Zoom kept harvesting herb after herb that he has came upon, some weren't even on the quest but why not? He thought.

After finishing the quest after fifteen more minutes Zoom decided to keep going deeper into the forest, he has recently entered the middle perimeter which means more and better resources but unfortunately higher level beasts.

But the rewards were too enticing so he kept going.
