Chapter 13: About to be Bullied to Death by the Zhou Family

"Sangsang, the Zhou family is here. Why aren't you out there greeting them? What business do you have to run to Grandpa?"

Lin Laogeng had heard Mr. Zhou and his clan's voices a while ago, but he was helpless as his legs were numb. He didn't even know how to go outside and look.

"Grandpa, I'll prepare the ink for you. You need to write the letter of dissolution of the engagement quickly. Otherwise, we might be bullied to death by the Zhou family." Lin Caisang put the small table that Lin Laogeng usually used for meals on the bed in front of him.

She then spread out the paper and started to grind the ink.

"This... Sangsang, what do you mean?"

Lin Laogeng was slightly puzzled. Why would they suddenly have to write a letter for the dissolution of engagement? Surely it wasn't this critical yet since his wife has already…

Suddenly, he narrowed his eyes, understanding the implicit meaning in Lin Caisang's words. His face turned pale.

"Did they come to dissolve the engagement?!"

He was wondering why Elder Mr.Zhou and his family had come without any reason. As it turned out, they came to dissolve the engagement!

"What else could they be here for? You didn't see Madam Zhou's face when she saw me; she wished she could strangle me on the spot. Do you think they came to visit me?"

Lin Caisang shrugged and said.

"Grandpa, you hurry up and write. I will bring it to Grandma later."

"Alright."

What Lin Caisang said was always right in Lin Laogeng's eyes. Even if he had some doubts now, he didn't think much and picked up the brush to write the letter of dissolution of the engagement.

When Lin Caisang took the letter of dissolution of the engagement and left the room, he only realized after a while that Zhou family must have heard about yesterday's incident. Hence, they are here to dissolve the engagement. Wouldn't they turn the world upside down when his family brought out this letter?

Indeed, when Ms.Lu of the Lin Family returned home and casually placed the letter of dissolution that Lin Caisang had handed her in front of Mr.Zhou, the Zhou family immediately became rageful, and Madam Zhou was even more furious. She was about to rush up and fight with Ms. Lu.

Ms. Lu huffed coldly, glancing at the letter of dissolution on the table.

"So, let's dispense of this engagement. It's also good that you came to visit Sangsang which saves me the old bones from taking another trip to the town."

She did not show any courtesy to Mr.Zhou. Back in the courtyard, Lin Caisang had already made clear the purpose of the Zhou family's visit. Coupled with the reminder from Lin Laogeng, she remembered the role Zhou Liang had played in this matter.

At this moment, she had absolutely no affection for the Zhou family.

"You--"

Mr.Zhou was a wise man and realised his grandson couldn't sever his ties from the incident yesterday.

If it hadn't been for him, how could he have learned of Lin Caisang killing Young Master Chen so quickly? It was Zhou Liang who had told him. Nonetheless, Lin Caisang's act of killing her husband must have been factual.

Even though he blamed his grandson for being reckless, he believed the engagement should be dissolved.
