LETTER

I simply stared at the two men who were tied to a large tree, while they both glanced at me coldly while I ate breakfast in front of them. "Hungry?" I questioned, pointing to the food on the table, and they both hissed at me.

I know uncle can get out of there, but I also know he doesn't want to because if he can escape, Mino can flee, and I know he wants to torment the mortal in exchange for their stupid scheme. When uncle has nothing to do in life, he always causes me headaches!

"Is it enjoyable to annoy someone as gorgeous as me?" I confidently said, as they both coughed, as if they didn't agree with what I was saying. I quickly raised an eyebrow at them and gave them a harsh look. "Do you have an issue with that?" I confidently assure. "You'll look better if you let us leave," Mino said coldly, which thrilled me.

This mortal is also amazingly clever. I instantly looked at the wounds he sustained as a result of the hoax they played on me earlier, but I didn't pay much attention to it due to my displeasure. "You're just like your mother," uncle said, and I agreed. It is an honor to be labeled like my mother. I finished my meal a few moments later while they watched along.

I was going to stand up when I felt cold and turned around to glance behind me. I was taken aback when I noticed a water portal opening that was progressively expanding. A few moments later, I noticed mother on the other side of the portal gesticulating, then signaling her companions behind her to cross the portal rapidly.

I felt excited right away since the villagers crossed one after the other. They all came out after a while, but my heart almost broke since I felt their number had been substantially decreased. I'm not sure why, but I want to hug them all individually, especially the bandaged ones with sad expressions.

The portal vanished instantly, and they parted to allow my queen mother through. I quickly embraced her tightly, and she hugged me back. "Vreihya, what did you do to your uncle and partner?" she inquired, her head tilting to look at them. "They are misbehaving children, mother," I replied sadly, sensing her exhaustion.

I felt uncle's presence by my side a few moments later, and as I let go of my mother, it is now his turn to embrace his twin. He'd already used his power to free himself, and I could feel Mino's gradual approach. Everything that happened before seemed to have faded from our memories, and we are now solely focused on the villagers who have arrived.

I'm at a loss for words to console them because they don't appear to want to talk either. I was going to say something when I was interrupted by the sound of a wailing baby. I immediately noticed a woman desperately consoling her crying child. I swiftly approached her and extended my hands to take the baby. She immediately smiled lightly and handed me her weeping child.

I instantly took it, and in my arms, she grew quiet and seemed at peace. I can't help but smile lightly since I'm so delighted to be holding the baby. "All of you will stay here; this place is safe," uncle said gently, and I heard the villagers' pleased words.

"There is food, water, and the princess will assist you in building your new homes," mother gently said as I just stared at the baby who was now extending her little hand as if she wanted to touch me. "We are happy because you are not abandoning us dear queen, but what about the remains of our relatives?" I immediately looked at an elderly woman who was beginning to cry.

My heart aches even more since she wasn't with her old husband, whom I always saw joking around with her whenever I visited the village. I'm not sure why, but there appears to be anger in my heart. I frequently emphasize that the world of mortals is chaotic, but ours is also a violent world. I ran over to the old woman and rubbed her by the shoulder as she began to grieve.

I felt like a dagger penetrated my chest when I heard the other villagers' stifled sobs. We, the royals, should be their protectors, not the beasts who will murder them. The old lady couldn't take it any longer, so she turned around and hugged me, but I was too shocked and I lost the strength to hold the baby.

But I'm grateful for Mino's prompt response, as he gently supported my carrying of the baby and took the baby from my arms. Then I tightly hugged the grieving old lady. We spent the day allowing our villagers to rest and eat in the palace. We awoke to a new day.

I couldn't sleep all night because I kept worrying about our villagers. This chaos must end! But how exactly? I was in that frame of mind when uncle summoned me to begin constructing a new home for the villagers as soon as possible. I know that the new kingdom and home will not be adequate to replace their memories of our former palace, where they grew up, raised a family, aged, and made beautiful memories.

I showered them with charming smiles despite being exhausted from using my magic to build their homes all day. I won't let them see my deep sorrow because they need someone with a strong heart to inspire them. I made certain that in each home, I asked what their deceased loved ones' favorite flower was at home and offered it to them so that they may care for it as a token of their pure love.

When I looked out the veranda of our palace as it was getting dark, I smiled because I could see the illuminated dwellings that used to be merely open lawns. Although it appears impossible to begin after the mess they witnessed that I did not, they sympathized with my anguish and pain. I was ready to walk in when I was interrupted by a voice from beside me.

"You're doing great!" he murmured kindly, and my surprise made me want to yell at him. He's getting pretty good at masking his presence, because he's here by my side without me even noticing. We're now both peering out the veranda, watching the strive to get things back to normal.

"I watched how you tried to put a smile on their faces, princess, but I just want to tell you that I feel like it's my fault as well," I glanced at him with a shocked expression because this was the first time he spoke his sentiments without being forced to. Did the Goddess instruct him to do so?

"It saddens me to see them that way, which is why I'm just now informing you that I want to protect them as well." What he taught seemed to amaze me even more. Is he growing fond of our world and kind despite the dangers to his life? Is Mino developing love for our world, or is this just a mandate from the Goddess that he must obey in order to return home?

It's difficult to tell if this is his personal choice or if he just wants to get home soon. I was about to ask him to clarify something when he handed me something that looked like a notebook. I grabbed it suspiciously from him and saw it more clearly. It is an old notebook with a few scratches on each side, but what struck me the most were the small blood stains on it.

"What is this?" I inquired, bewildered, because I couldn't understand him. "Earlier, while I was helping a child carry things, she was crying and handed me that notebook, then she claimed it was his deceased brother's notebook and requested her to bring it to you in the thick of another kingdom's attack," he explained to me with sorrow, which I immediately sympathized with. An innocent child died, leaving behind a younger sibling.

"I already read it, and it makes me look at you in an entirely new perspective," he stated weakly, and my mouth immediately opened due to what he said. What is the content of this notebook, and why did it have such an impact on Mino?

"I guess you are indeed kind after all," he muttered abruptly, turning his back on me, and leaving my room without saying anything. I'm not sure why his behavior seems to have struck my heart. Despite my confusion as to why his statements were so strange, I trembled and slowly opened the notebook.

I'm not sure why, but after reading what was in the notebook, my tears fell on the page. "Why is Princess Vreihya the most beautiful princess of all?" I read the top of the page slowly.

"It's not just her aesthetic beauty that's alluring; it's also her love for humble village kids like me; she's the only princess who gets off the carriage and hands out beautiful flowers; she's the only princess who doesn't want to be kneeled upon but strongly wants to serve." I couldn't stop the trembling of my lips because what I read seemed to caress my heart.

I shifted it carefully to the next page, grieved by the death of the young boy who wrote these thoughts. I was immediately possessed by a great desire. There is a tremendous urge to return and exact revenge. I demand justice! I want to strive for the safety of children like him!
