Breaking the stalemate

Even though all five fighters had sensed the activation of the huge formation, none of them had any time to do anything about it.

The only thing the Apostle could do as she sensed the appearance of that formation was silently curse the fact that a pawn which they had spent quite a lot of effort in obtaining was just killed so easily.

Of course, the Apostle did not even have much time to do that, as she suddenly had to dodge a drop of water that was flying towards her.

But even though the drop of water that the Apostle had just dodged looked identical to normal water drops, if one were to treat it as such, they would be in a world of hurt.

Even though everything several Billion Li around them had already been annihilated, the water drop was still able to cause a huge amount of damage, as it quickly traveled that distance and destroyed anything below it with its sheer speed.

A fraction of a moment later, the Apostle suddenly felt as though a world was weighing down on her fragile body, causing her to let out a snort and break out of that suppression.

But even so, Xu Yue attack had managed to delay the Apostle for a small fraction of a second, which might as well have been an eternity for beings of their power.

As such, the Apostle was in quite a bad situation to deal with both Ye Feng and Hao Xifeng, who were both attacking her at the same time.

After just a moment of hesitation, the Apostle suddenly flew towards Ye Feng, who was in the process of attacking her.

As she had decided that Hao Xifeng was the more powerful and troublesome of the two, the Apostle had now decided to trade injury for injury with Ye Feng.

In an instant, the Apostle had charged through Ye Feng's extremely powerful flame attack, arriving at the other side quite battered.

But even so, after only a moment, whilst Xu Yue, Hao Xifeng and the Primordial Water Drop were all trying to attack her, the Apostle suddenly let out a jab towards Ye Feng, who had long since transformed from her enormous Phoenix Form into a more manageable human one.

In an instant, the Apostle's fist suddenly flew through Ye Feng's chest, causing her own eyes to widen.

'She's too ruthless!' thought the Apostle as she watched Ye Feng ignore her existence powered attack and launch her own offensive.

As the fist of the Apostle went through Ye Feng's bountiful chest, the latter's body suddenly burst into extremely bright flames, which soon also enveloped the Apostle.

Using her brightest and most powerful flames, Ye Feng began ruthlessly burning the body of the Apostle, as an intimidating aura suddenly appeared around her body.

The instant that aura, which reminded her of a powerful Immortal appeared, the Apostle, which had been previously shredding Ye Feng's insides immediately went to retreat, but sadly, it already too later.

In an instant, Ye Feng's flames suddenly became over thirty times hotter, causing even her own Phoenix Body which was extremely resistant to begin burning.

At the same time though, by the time the Apostle had retreated, a large part of her body had been burned by flames powered by existence, which meant that these injuries were not as easily healed as the previous ones.

In an instant, the other three cultivators began chasing and fighting the Apostle, leaving Ye Feng behind.

The moment the battle finally out of the region that Ye Feng could sense using her spiritual sense, she instantly spat out mouthful after mouthful of blood.

Immediately, Ye Feng, who was no longer suppressing her injuries, began using her Qi to try to stabilize herself, but sadly this also did not seem to work, as the injuries caused by the Apostle slowly but surely ate away at her.

Seeing this, Ye Feng faintly shook her head.

'I guess I won't be able to help any longer, hopefully they will be able to take advantage of the injuries I caused her,' thought Ye Feng as she turned back into her Phoenix form and began flying away.

Right now, Ye Feng needed to undergo an immediate seclusion to heal the injuries that had been caused to her by the Apostle, as well as the injuries to by herself.

But even though she had injured herself greatly by tapping into the power of her previous life, Ye Feng knew that this would all be worth it if they managed to defeat that apostle and tip the scales in their favor.

Although a war itself might be massive in scale, one must not underestimate the effects that a single victory might have on its end, no matter how small.

As long as the three cultivators were able to defeat the apostle without all of them sustaining major injuries, the ones that remained capable of fighting could go onto other battlefields, tipping the scales in their favor over there and cause a cascading effect.

At least this was what Ye Feng thought as she flew through the sky as she occasionally annihilated waves of countless bugs.

As she stared at the Phoenix who was flying through the sky, Xu Yue, who was currently inside f the Library of Heaven, couldn't help but touch her chin.

"Being able to show this much of her power so soon after being reincarnated, that little bird, is really quite impressive," mumbled Xu Yue as it fell into thought.

In fact, the origins of that little bird made Xu Yue feel quite perplexed.

Based on what she had seen, Xu Yue was quite sure that she was this Timeline's version of the Phoenix Ancestor.

But at the same time, the Phoenix Ancestor of this Timeline was clearly still alive, and even fighting against the invaders up in the Upper Realm, which caused Xu Yue to feel some doubt.

But even so, Xu Yue, who did not have enough time to care about these minor details, turned her attention back Xu Yue.
