Chapter 4: Calm before Chaos

Having a moment for herself as the screeching down below stopped, she sighed and finally had time to think uninterrupted ' ok Miku, think you got this, so first things first, I know that eating that creature gave me Biomass whatever that is, and my instincts are telling me that I need it that it seems important second is I'm not in Kansas anymore.'

She Internally giggles at her little joke before getting serious again. 'Third thing is I'm not human anymore, and I have no clue as to what I am.' she takes this time to search her surroundings before moving slightly 'next is the fact I have no idea where I am besides a slightly damp cave and to top it all off I see in some kinda colour spectrum and have echolocation I think.'

she purposefully makes a slight noise again, and her surroundings get outlined,' but it does seem that this tunnel leads outside, question am I safer in here or out there?' Miku thinks about it as a cool wind slowly blows in from the exit toward her and remembers her encounter and feels that there could be even more dangerous creatures, which scares her.

Just then, a creepy dripping noise echoes about, causing Miku to jump slightly and look around only to notice the source is a stalactite dripping onto the ground as the water drop is a bright and colourful blue.

Miku sighs before steeling her nerves 'well, before anything else, I need to focus on my goal, which is to survive. Which means I need shelter, food and water. The shelter is covered if I stay here, and it leads to the outside, which will give me access to hopefully better food and water sources' she shutters again, slightly traumatized about her previous actions.

Just thinking about the smelly creature she had eaten and the others that had chased her had shaken her mentally, but Miku was Strong-willed; after all, you have to be to run your own business.

Now that she had sorted out her immediate needs, she started to move up and out of the tunnel slowly, occasionally making soft noises to use her echolocation to outline her already strange vision to get more details about what she is seeing and eventually, she makes it outside the first thing that hit her was the thick smell of pine and earth.

The first thing she feels is the cool gentle wind getting stronger against her skin, which reminds her she is all sticky with something, and it's slowly starting to dry. She finds that the trees are blue, some of the rocks not covered by the lush canopy appear to be yellow, and the occasional orange creatures in the trees.

There are chirping noises coming from some of them while others are making chittering and scurrying noises 'wow, it's so beautiful out here. I could get used to this view now; where can I find some water? I feel all sticky' just then, Miku could feel her stomach growling and an intense need to feed 'well, I guess food comes first. At least I know I can eat raw meat, but I would rather not, but I have no way to cook it' Miku quietly sneaks out of her hiding hole and once again looks around.

As she silently stalked through the underbrush of the forest, feeling the leaves and branches against her skin and the subtle crunch of the grass and twigs underfoot off in the distance, Miku spotted an orange bunny-like creature, and her instincts kicked in; she slowly climbs a nearby tree feeling her sharp claws slowly grip into the tough bark as a subtle crunching noise spreads out.

The creature's ears twitch slightly, and Miku pauses, not moving a muscle as her tail coils around the tree for further support. As it bends back down to continue what Miku assumes is eating, she crosses branches one at a time till she is right above the rabbit. 'man, this body is agile. I wish I had had a body like this during my previous life. This is nuts now; how do I do this? I have never killed anything before.'

Panicking a little, Miku decides to let her body guide her as she creeps ever closer, but just as she nears, the crunch from her claws alerts the rabbit, then the rabbit's ears twitch, and it turns to face her, alarm bells start ringing in Miku's head and instead of running the rabbit jumped at her head first. Miku stunned at the sudden change of events, hesitates, putting herself in danger.

Luckily her body once again moves on its own, and her tail shoots out lightning-quick and skewers the rabbit creature. As her spiked tail penetrates its torso, she can feel that as it struggles, its heartbeat slows down, making blood spew out from the wound less and less. As it goes limp, its heart stops, and its body hangs there lifeless.

Shocked and startled by the situation, she slowly pulls out her tail, and the body slumps to the ground as the blood starts to pool. After taking a few minutes to collect herself, her stomach growls again, and she begins to eat. As she does once again, a voice rings in her head 'Biomass acquired threshold reached unlocking status.'
