28: A Blast From The Past

Fate's Pov,

MONDAY,

9:50 AM,

The aroma of hot coffee hits my nostrils. the chuckle of my best comrade and my non-blooded sister filled our apartment. I just watch them, listen to them. Miss Kim, either should I say Destiny left early in the morning so we didn't get a chance to greet each other. I hope she eats breakfast though.

"Yah! Fate what to do think?" Jerry asked pausing my thoughts. Right, they were talking about Joey coming with us J.H.K. company today she wants to get an Autograph from the 'Velvet' leader. Good thing we are not going to work Miss Cane still didn't return. she would probably come next weekend. So, now we have more breaks.

"Sure Joey but first you have to ask Jessie .you don't want to make them uncomfortable right?"

"Of course not I would ask Jessie first if they have time, maybe she can help me with the autograph"

"You think she would give you an autograph? I don't think that. They would be busy and after the conference, tired" Jerry explained. Joey looks down her smile fades away. ' seriously this girl '. I kick Jerry under the table she jerks in pain "AOww!"

"Serves you right" I mouthed she rolls her eyes. I glance at Joey "Hey! Don't worry Jo I would request Miss Kim. Then when their conference is over we'll get an autograph, how about that?"

Joey shook her head, "You will do that?".

I smiled "Sure! We'll get an autograph, chin up!."

"But if...'owww' Jerry was about to say something again but I kicked her in the leg "Would you stop doing that!" She groans and reached down to rub her sore calf.

I grin " I don't know what you talking about"

She mumbled cuss words. which cause us to laugh more.

Jerry frown and take our plates "You two are traitors"

"But you love us," we said in harmony.

She grumbled, "in your dreams!"

After eating breakfast together I help Jerry clean the dishes joey gets her autograph book. We left the apartment together. walking through the side walls always feels delightful. Joey holds my hand, I peek at her she smiles I return doing the same. It recalls my old memories of how I used to hold my mom's hand whenever we go to the park together. She always smiles at me whenever I ask her to buy me a friend.

well, the first time I ever had a friend was Teddy. My fluffy softest plushie koala. But as I always said whenever I think I have something forever it just fades away so did Teddy. The last time I saw him in my Fathers' hand was when he was burning into flames. Anyways, that was in past. I turned my attention to the pairs who were discussing and strolling.

"So you are saying she was in J.H.K.company as a trainee?" Jerry asked Joey.

"Who?" They look at me. Jerry frowns "and again you were spacing out, seriously you need to stop your daydreams in public"

"Oh come on! I will try next time but for now, what are we talking about?"

Joey sighed "I read somewhere that Miss Bae used to be a trainee at J.H.K company before she join CUBE Entertainment, she and Miss Kim were very good friends. But after a few days, the news spread that Miss Bae is leaving J.H.K's company. Many people felt bad after knowing this. But Finally, today after so long, those two idols are together again"

After hearing multiple stuff, I couldn't help but ask, "Well, this Miss Bae Velvet's leader and Miss Kim have known each other for a long time."

"Absolutely. And Miss Bae is nothing less than a goddess. she doesn't look human, she looks like a messenger  of God."Joey explained

Jerry and I laughed together "Is she that good-looking?"

"Fate, you understand that our Joey has a crush on  Miss Bea." Jerry teasingly said

I smiled and agreed with her. Joey pulled her hand away and stopped me. Jerry and I  turned to her.

Joey said a bit irritated "Yahh! you two!".

Jerry and I looked at each other " Run!"

"You two!" Joey said scooting after us. We jogged without hearing anything. Even our joey is very sweet but angry joey is not good at all.

After running for a while Jerry and I was almost out of breath. I stood for a while and gasped with my hands on my knees.

"Finally," Joey babbled. We honestly don't have the power to run anymore.

Jerry put her hand over my shoulder, "We're getting old, for running around like this."

"Looks like it's true," I agreed

Joey stood next to us and huffed "guys let's go I don't wanna do the jogging thing ya know!"

" sure thing" 

J.H.K. BUILDING,

When we reached the company, I was aghast to see so many news reporters in their cars. It seems that the parking space inside is almost full. Good thing there is outside parking.

Entering inside, I saw how everyone is busy with their phones holding prepared ID., and the building is in a bizarre commotion today.

"Yo! Fate!" I saw Jessie coming toward us waving her hand.

"Hello morning Jessie!" Jerry said on my behalf.

Jessie smiled "Hey Jerry, Joey". She glances at me "you guys are going to the cafeteria right?" I nod. "The trainees are also there I already told them not to cause any trouble, but if they do something you know where to find me ."

"Don't worry we got this"

Jessie was about to say something but her talking device rang. She peeks at it and gives us small smile "I have to go now, see ya later ".

"See ya," we said in unison.

"I think she's really busy " Joey mumbled

"Hey even if she's busy we will talk about the autograph later so it won't bother her now I assure Joey, she sighs and nods.

We headed toward the cafeteria, Jerry, and Joey ahead of me. "Guys, I have to go to the latrine for a while, you two go ahead  I will come later"

"Okay"

As I crossed the lane of the 3rd floor and came near the last restroom, I saw it was written out of order under maintenance in big letters. ' God! I have to go to the restroom on the 10th floor, damn it!'

I entered the elevator and pressed the 10th-floor button. humming a little to the tune of the elevator's hymn.

leaving the bathroom, I entered the elevator again and pressed the button for the 2nd floor. But surprisingly, the elevator stopped on the 8th floor, someone stopped the elevator. After a while, the elevator door opened and I was not prepared for what I saw

"Well, Hello there, are you a reporter or fan?"

In the elevator music, I heard her velvety voice. I gazed up to connect with a pair of blue eyes loaded with enthusiasm. A girl in all her glory, standing posture perfectly with her arms crossed, Ginger-colored locks cascading down her shoulder in a Goddess-like fashion. She was dressed in a freshly pressed blue navy blazer with a crisp white blouse with a lacquer underneath. The appropriate knee-length plaid skirt and matching earrings.

"Hey?" She said politely repeating when I didn't respond. I shook my head in confirmation 'No'. She sighs in relief and smiles. She bowed her head slightly and offered her hand for a friendly handshake, which I don't know if should I take or not.

I stare at her hand and then her eyes, she was watching me curiously. Trying to be a generous person I take her offer, her smooth pappy palms unite with mine.' her hands are soft but not like the Idol, my Destiny'

"I'm Bea Joon Hyun " I raised an eyebrow. she chuckled" or you can just call me Irene". Miss Irene takes her hand out and asks" can you help me, I am looking for the costume room" I nod.

We entered the costume room. She picks a black blouse from the dresses which were for the 'Velvets'. That's weird she is using their clothes. Miss Irene gets into the changing room, I wait outside. Her name is Bea, I tried to recall her name.

why do I...wait for a holy minute. She's the 'Velvet Leader Miss Bea! in short, Irene Bea! autograph! but I don't have Joey's book with me. Damm it!'

"Hey, stranger" she cooed as she got out of the costume room.

I glimpse at her and smile bowing a little "Hello, Miss Irene"

She shrieks "Oh come on, you don't have to be too formal"

"Okay"

Passing the costume room we proceeded toward the elevator. On the way "You didn't tell me your name?" asked Miss Irene. I looked at her "My name is Fate"

"Your name is very beautiful,  Fate" she compliments but that doesn't make my heart shoot up. The only praises that make my heart rate increase are by the idol.

"yours too"

Miss Irene sneered " Are you trying to charm me now"

I grin "is it working?"

She giggled "Not really"

Miss Irene is a favorable person. Hearkening to her statements and stories, you will not think that she is a person of such great magnificence. she is just as normal as us.

Almost in front of the elevator, I was about to take another step when a call came from behind "Fate?"

A smile emerged on my lips when I heard her voice. I turned back "Miss Kim"

She is coming towards us I can feel my heart thump and boost its speed as the idol take a step. The idol wearing her 'CHANEL' dress, an air of authority and class alluded to her sense of style. Her following black heir stream over her shoulders, her light make-up. The only way I can describe her at this moment is the epitome of perfection.

maybe according to Joey Miss Irene is a goddess but Miss Kim she's...she is just 'Perfect as a fallen angel hidden within the humans.

She stayed in front of me "What are you doing here?" she asked softly. I was about to answer but her eyes fell on the girl next to me and her sweet voice swivel slightly thick "Irene what are you doing here?"

"Oh I was looking for a dress and Fate helped me," she said charmingly.

"That's good to hear now you can go to the conference room everyone is waiting".

Miss Irene nods and looks at me " I will see you later Fate, Thanks btw"

I smile "your welcome"

Miss Irene says bye. I watch her get into the elevator. 'Her autograph, I have to request Miss Kim but I don't think I have the vigor to look at her. I can feel her eyes shooting cutlasses through me. 

I gulped hard and cleared my throat 'Okay, just turn around and show her your smile

"Miss Kim, I know you are very busy but can I request you something ". She looked at me for a while but didn't say anything so I continued "Joey Miss Bea's fan . If you have time after the conference  can you give me her autograph."

A small smile appeared on her lips. Seeing her smile, a cold shiver went through my body. 'Gah! It scares me sometimes

She crossed her arms over her well-sculpted chest "it's for Joey?"

"Yes"

"Okay"

"Thank you so much, Miss Kim"

"Don't thank me now, thank me after you get what you want. For now, go"

nodding happily "okay" I turned to leave. Even as I go I can feel her eyes on me.

CAFETERIA,

I arrived at the cafeteria and saw all the trainers sitting with their friends and some of them are with their group members eating food. I find Joey sitting at a table talking with Felix, she looks happy. Felix and his friends are also trainees here, their group will be introduced next year.

I moved to the kitchen and got inside, which smelled like a bakery shop. 'What's the matter, are we preparing muffins today?'. "Here you are, Fate, help me now" Carol begged.

"I will do it, but where is Dina?" Dina always helps with most of the kitchen work, but now.

"She's there," Jerry told  Pointing her fingers behind me. I observed.

And there she is Dina, coming here but with "Ashley?". Carol looked at me, perhaps as surprised as I was. Because according to Dina Ashley was a rich brat a few days ago, and now this.

"Isn't that the girl who burned your hand?" Jerry asked.

"Yes, but now don't talk about this anymore"

Dina stopped in front of us, and Ashley stood next to her. she smile and said "Fate Unnie"

"Hey,"

Ashley bowed a little "I'm sorry" she mumbled. I'm too dumbfounded to say anything. She went on " I'm sorry, to all of you for my attitude" she fold her hands "please forgive me "

"Hey, it's fine we already forgive you" I queried Carol "right, Carol?"

"Yes we did"

"But I did..**Aoow* ' Jerry was infringing again so I smack her arm. she shoots daggers at me I narrowed my eyes. Honestly, her daggering threats don't work on me.

" you guys forgive me?" Ashley ask

Carol chuckled "yes we all did but for now, we have to do some work. See you later Ashley"

As Ashley leaves we look at each "well, that was new" Carol said.

"I know I get surprised too when she said sorry to me " Dina spoke.

"I'm glad she finally apologize for her behavior"

"Yup!"

"Now let's get to work everyone " I enunciate. They nod

Hours go by we almost finish our work. The cafeteria is empty now except for us. we were cleaning and fixed the seats. I didn't see Joey for a while Dina said she leave with Jessie. I wonder where she is.

"Fate, you finished?" Jerry asked

"Yeah, Did you?" I query her

"Yup!"

"Sista!" Jerry called spurt towards us with her autograph book in her hand. I wonder what she is doing with it. She stopped in front of us gasping for breath as she jumped with euphoria "look I've got it!".

I saw her autograph book page that's signed by someone very neatly

"Autograph?" I asked

"Yes, Miss Kim she helped me to meet  Miss Bea.do you know how beautiful she is!."

Miss Kim, kept her word. I have to thank her now or another time.' Why later! go now, it seems that the conference is over too'. Yes, it's good to go now.

"Guys I have to go' I stated

"Where?" Jerry ask

I grinned and confessed, "say thank you to, Miss Kim."

"Thank her or are you going to see her Huh!?"

"You can surmise whatever you want," I declared and proceeded towards my destination, Miss Kim.

I waited for the elevator. The elevator entrance opened. I saw Jessie "Oh fate, are you going up?"

I went in and stood next to her, "Yes, I was looking for Miss Kim, do you know where she is?"

She nodded " she's in the dressing room I think, you can go and have a look"

"Oh thanks"

"Is the conference over?" I asked

"Yes" she asserted

The elevator stopped and Jessie exited. Before leaving she said something "Fate you should go home early the weather doesn't look good it might rain"

"Ok"

Moving towards the dressing room, I suddenly heard something that halted me from carrying another step. voices 'I wonder if there is anyone on this floor now.

The noise is coming from the trainee's practice room. I always keep myself away from others' business, but this time  I couldn't control myself here.

Stepping a little further, I saw something that stopped my whole world. I could feel the warm liquid on my cheek. Unknowingly, my right hand reached to touch my cheeks and tears.

I never felt extreme pain even when my father beat me, until now. My heart is getting hefty as if somebody is slashing it with a thousand blades. My presence is still foreign to the two couples ahead.

I depart my body and pulled myself out of that place. I entered the elevator again. For a while, the ocular is still meandering in front of my eyes.

The way he held her gently. The way his lips unify with her soft ones. The only thing  I want to confess is my gratitude to her. Only want to say 'Thank you Miss Kim .'  then why! Why do I have to be a witness to Her beloved lover kissing her? Why Their intimate moment?

The door opened with a ding sound. I walked out of the lobby and down the street. I don't know where I'm going but I know I don't want to go to Kim House today. I wipe my tears, 'God! I hate being weak!'. it's no use though Jessie was right the rain has already started drenching me, and my clothes are soaked. Good thing people are too busy saving themselves so they won't laugh at me.

I don't even know why I'm the one feeling hurt! 'Maybe cause you were conceived that she would remember you. no, I was not.' Your lying? Except it you coward!'. I...just thought, no I hoped she would. But..she wouldn't.

I look at my wedding ring there's is no way I'm keeping it thinking this is a string bounding us together.  No way! I should go to the jewelry shop and take it off. There was a jewelry store here? Or somewhere.

Roaming my eyes to my surroundings my vision is fogged, Great! If I just pass out in the middle of the street on a rainy night. High chances of getting hit by a car.  Should have told Jerry. Don't think she would bother to find she would think I'm with the idol.

"FATe!!" Someone yelled, and I'm daydreaming that maybe there was no way anyone would come here. I kept walking or at last, tried to walk properly with my fogged vision, shivering legs, and plunging heart. 

"FATE! WAIT!" Again seriously how far am I dreaming? This time the voice was close like it was coming from my back. "Fate!" Someone grabs my arm making me spin cyclically. 'Eh?'

I tried to make a face at the stranger who almost break my arm. The stranger leaves my arm and softly wipes my tears with their thumb. Soft? It's a girl? I prepare my eyes to open. The girl who was with me in the heavenly rain finished stroking her thumb. Opening my eyes I saw...

WHAT THe!

"Oliver'...?" I mummer, everything turns dark. I pass out In her arms. She holds me "Dont worry I got you"

'They say the right person in your life will always come at the right time. But in mine, they always come at the worst '

" Aunt Lee it was their fault. I hit Yeji 'cause she said Fate is not our family." Jerry grumbled at Miss Lee who sigh in distrust "Jerry even if they said mean things hitting her in front of the principal was a mistake. Look they suspend you for one week now"

"But Aunt Lee..' "

"Youngseo Jerry Lee did I shutter!" Miss Lee yelled. There's no room for conversing about this now.

"M- Miss Lee I'm leaving "

She smiles warmly there's no rage "have a nice day Dear and Yeji and her friends won't do anything. I have talked to their parents"

"Okay,"

Leaving my home I went to school and carefully look around the hallways." oh there you are" Yeji! I turn and saw her standing with her friends.

I gulped "h-Halo."

Yeji lift an eyebrow "it's hello to you"

I cleared my throat "Hello" and mirrored her. She frowns "Oh come on Adierson we won't kill you. I already get my punishment so stop "

"Oh," I bowed "thank you ". She waved her hands and depart with her friends. 

I cross to my locker room and take my books for my next class but when I was about to enter I bumped into someone and drop my books " Oww" we fall together.

I brush the darts off my uniform"Hey, Here I got you" the girl said helping me assemble my books.

"Thanks" 

The girl smiled ear to ear "I'm Oliver Evanoff, You are?"

I get up and take my book "Fate Adierson"

'God my head' I lazily drift at the soft comfy mattress. Soft? Wait, it's not my bed!

I shoot my eyes open and find my high school savior Oliver Evanoff sitting on her armchair drowsy letting her body fall into the fabric watching me. " you need to stop watching people like that you know"

She scoffs "I was just making sure your okay "

I grinned "I am thanks "

"Whatever. So you gonna tell me how you end up in the middle street ?" She fire

"Sure are you going to tell me when did you come here and how you find me?" I fire back

She surrenders "aye "

"But before all of that..." I glance at my wedding ring "there is something I want you to help me with"

She looks at me in confession " sure?"
