Violets

When Selena saw the roses in Kanzaki's hand she was momentarily shocked since no one had ever given her something like this before. When she was dating Landon the only gift she would receive was a beating if she didn't behave exactly like he asked.

Due to this when Selena received the roses with shaky hands she nearly began crying as water began filling her eyelids putting Kanzaki into a panic, "What's wrong?! Do you not like roses? I can go and get something else if you would like." Kanzaki said in a panic unsure of exactly what was happening to Selena.

In his mind, he thought she would smile or say thank you but this was way beyond his expectations but not in a good way. If Kanzaki would have known she would respond like this he wouldn't have even approached the stall to look at flowers.

"N-nothing is wrong. I've just never received a gift like this before." Selena said with a smile confusing Kanzaki. Even though Landon was a horrible person Kanzaki had still expected someone pretty like Selena to receive roses at some point in time but it seems he was mistaken.

Little did he know that the reason behind Selena never receiving such a gift was due to Landon's planning. Landon had hired people to get rid of any gifts Selena might get before she even saw them while also killing any suitors that may try to get near her. The reasoning behind this is so he could make her feel more isolated and more willing to do his bidding.

The situation was more than jacked up and if Kanzaki knew about it he might have done a little more to Landon's grave than just leaving it alone, "Oh well you should have definitely received more than this in your life. I promise to give and show you many more things that will make you happy!" Kanzaki said while looking into Selena's eyes.

Even though he could say these things out loud it didn't mean it wasn't hard. He had gone through many lines in his head for the few seconds he had to think to come up with the most meaningful way to say what he felt and that was what he had come up with.

It seemed to have gone well because when Kanzaki thought that he almost thought he could see hearts forming in the eyes of Selena, 'I must be imagining it.' Kanzaki thought to himself as Selena removed the tears from her eyes and grabbed onto Kanzaki's wrist.

"It's time to go to the restaurant follow me!~" Selena shouted as she pulled Kanzaki out of his apartment and toward the elevator. Her emotions were much different than a few seconds ago confusing Kanzaki but he thought it was better than her crying so he just went along with it and followed her.

'He's so cute when he's concerned about me~' Selena thought to herself as she relished in the feeling of grabbing Kanzaki's arm and dragging him along. She had planned from the beginning when she saw the roses to see his cute face when he worried about her.

It was true that someone had never done something like that for her and she was touched but she also made it seem a little more extreme so she saw the cute side of Kanzaki. As she was dragging him along to the elevator she sneakily moved her hand down until she was grabbing Kanzaki's hand as she brought him along.

Selena felt Kanzaki twitch in surprise when she suddenly interlocked her fingers with his but he also didn't say anything and tightened his grip as well as they entered the elevator. Even though the purpose of holding Kanzaki's hand had been to lead him along, even after they entered the elevator and weren't moving they had their hands intertwined with Selena staring straight at Kanzaki and he was trying not to look at her due to slight embarrassment.

'I plan to enjoy this date to the fullest~' Selena thought as she leaned her head against Kanzaki's shoulder still holding his hand tightly.

'Well, I can definitely say I was underprepared.' Kanzaki thought as he hoped in his mind that his hands weren't sweating and that he smelled good with Selena leaning against him. There were many things that he could have missed or things that could have gone wrong when he was getting ready so he just prayed that nothing had actually gone wrong.

When Selena had grabbed his hand originally he had wanted to pull away due to shock but after he calmed down for a few seconds he thought this was a good thing since she seemed to be interested in him as well. If she was already making moves then he took that as the green light that she wanted to get closer to him just as bad as he wanted to get to know her.

The elevator eventually made it to the bottom floor where Kanzaki and Selena walked out of the building holding hands still as they made their way down the street and toward the restaurant.

During the walk neither of them talked much and just enjoyed the moment holding each other's hands and being in each other's presence until they got within 5 minutes of the restaurant, "Hey cutie~ Why don't you ditch her and come with me~" A woman said suddenly as Selena and Kanzaki were walking.

At first, the both of them didn't know who the woman was talking to since they had been in their own thoughts but when they both glanced toward the voice and saw a pretty woman staring directly at Kanzaki it was clear who she was talking to.

"Sorry but I'm on a date, I'm not interested." Kanzaki said without hesitation. Even though the girl in front of him could be considered pretty it wasn't on the level of Selena. Not only that but Kanzaki had known Selena for a while now and was way more attached to her than the random stranger in front of him. Another thing that Kanzaki realized was that the grip on Selena's hand tightened when she heard the girl speak.
