Chapter 75: The Second Battle

The cold winter wind blew, and it moved the wind chime's small bar to hit each other. The sound was clear, and Rupert, who paid attention to the wind chime every day, jumped and ran to John's house. 

Rupert knocked on John's door. His face was flushed as he knew it was time to go to the battle. 

John opened the door and grinned when he saw Rupert. "Well, lad, what do you want to report?"

Rupert bowed and then straightened his body. "Report, Beta John, the wind chime's sound is loud today."

John nodded. He caressed Rupert's hair. "Good job!"

"Can I go with you?"

"No, wait a few years ahead. But I want to say you contributed to our troop."

Rupert sighed and glanced at the floor. His shoulders slumped. He was excited about going to the battle for the first time, but he knew he was still too young.
