Nineteen

I watch as the guards take Jade away from me. How could this happen and then the commander seems to be very pleased with what he has just done until I can feel his smirk.

My mother looks relieved but how could she prefer to believe the commander earlier than her own daughter. It was upsetting, and then I couldn't go back to Jade's either.

Now I was going to have to be on my own and figure out how to get Jade out of jail. She couldn't even be judged properly.

I leave the meeting room and head for my room. I could probably do some thinking there. In the corridor I meet Lise.

"Is what the commander said about Jade true?" she asked me in a cold tone.

How could she think that Jade could have done this kind of thing to me. I really feel like this commander is manipulating everyone.

"Of course not," I replied sharply, and then went off to my room where there would be no one to bother me or even disturb me.

I lay down on my bed and watched the ceiling until Lilie came to me and I took her in my arms and stroked her.

"You at least believe me," I say before falling into a deep sleep.

When I wake up it must be at least seven o'clock, so I decide I should probably go and visit Jade, she must be really lonely, and then it's my fault she's in prison.

I should never have gone to live with her. I leave my room and head down the hallway to the dungeon where they must have locked Jade up.

There are guards leading the way, but I decide to make myself invisible until I reach the cell where Jade is locked up. They've put handcuffs on her, so she can't use her magic, and she's got a lot of bruises and looks injured.

They must have beaten her while I was away. Seeing her like this almost makes me want to cry.

"Lilith get out of here it's a trap." Jade shouted, but I didn't listen to her and moved closer to her cell.

"Don't worry, I'll get you out of here, I promise," I said before trying to reach for her hand, but as soon as my hand got close to the bar I was electrocuted and had to pull my hand away.

Something hits my head, and then I fall on the ground, I look up and who had done this.

"Commander" I said in shock. The man had a rope in one hand and a bag in the other. "What are you doing here and dressed like that?"

"I come to take you away with me. I can't let you be with that monster." The commander said wit an evil gleam in his eyes.

"What are you talking about?" I took a step back, looking at the get-up the commander wore. He was in a black suit and tie and wearing matching gloves.

"Listen to me," He said abruptly, "Jade stole you from me. You and I were supposed to be together. Not the two of you. DO you understand me? Answer me, damn it!"

I wanted to move, except my feet wouldn't carry me. He was known to be violent toward his ex-girlfriend, and I thought he was going to let me after he wins today.

"What are you going to do to me," I had found the strength to speak up. I didn't know how long I'd be able to keep it up.

"I just want you all to myself, Lilith, baby." He was coming closer. "If I can't have you, then no one can!"

My breathing became heavier, my thoughts were clouded with the unknown; what would this psycho do to my this time. Last time he tried to rape me…. And what did he mean by 'If I can't have you, then no one can'?

The commander, being a strong and overpowering man, rushed at me and threw the bag over my head, then tied the rope around my head.

I was weak, I knew I could not fight this man, I would lose for sure if I did. The only thing I could do was to sweat, from his armpits, from my forehead, from my whole body.

He carried me to a place in the forest and threw me down with ease. Then set me down on the cold, hard ground, the bag still tied to my head.

"I want to be the man of your dreams," He said with thunder in his voice. "Do it or you'll regret it."

There was a silence.

"Answer me, answer me please, my Lilith," He knelt down and took me in his arms. Something like metal touched my head. From that moment on, I knew what was going to happen to me; the commander was going to kill me. Thinking in a low voice, I tried to convince myself to speak if I wanted to survive, but nothing did, my voice was completely gone.

The silence that reigned after that was almost too slow until I heard a body fall to the ground and then the bag was removed from my head.

I feel arms wrap around me and I can't help but let my tears flow after what just happened to me.

"It's all right now, sweetheart" This nickname amazes me and then when I open my eyes I am even more amazed by the person who has taken me in his arms.

It was Izzy, I thought it was Jade who had saved me, but I was stupefied and the commander was lying on the ground unconscious, she had not killed him because he could still breathe.

Her presence had reassured me, and I was feeling very good until I realized that she was our enemy and I tried to get away from her, but my legs were still numb.

"No need to rush, rest Lilith, I didn't come to save you and then hurt you anyway. "Her tone was reassuring.

"You're special to me. You're the only one who I wouldn't mind loosing sleep for, the only one who I can never get tired of talking to, and the only who crosses my mind constantly throughout the day. You're the only one who can make me smile without trying, bring down my mood without the intention to affect my emotions with every action of yours. I can't explain with just words how much you mean to me, but you're the only one I'm afraid of losing and the one I want to keep in my life."

This is the last thing I hear before I fall into a deep sleep.
