Tyler's POV
"Why didn't you come to our house, Ara?" My daughter asked. I could see how Ara's face reddened, and I wanted to hear her reason why she was asking Ms. Brown for an extension of three days.
"I met a special friend, Anika," she replied, and my forehead furrowed, and I couldn't stop myself from feeling impatient. I wanted to ask her who that special friend that she meant was. Could it be a guy?
"Do you have a boyfriend, Arabella?" My daughter asked, and I could see the shock on Ara's face.
I was holding my breath as I waited for her response, which was killing me. She was smiling sweetly at my girl, and then she winked at Anika.
"It is a secret, for now, Anika." She declared, and I couldn't stop my heart from feeling alert.
"Tyler, Ara, and Anika, dinner is ready," Ara's mom said when she got out on the veranda, and I could see the beautiful smile on her face as she looked at her daughter and then at me.
