I Dare (Ch.654)

Neveah tried to keep on a calm facade as Jian pulled away, but she realised she had failed terribly when he laid a hand over her trembling hand, interlocking their fingers.

He lifted Neveah's hand up to his lips, placing a small kiss on the back of her palm. His lips lingered, stirring warmth in Neveah's heart and offering comfort words could not have.

"I did not foresee that the first occasion my beloved woman would grace my bedchamber would find me on a distant plane... this is torment most profound..." Jian broke the silence after a short moment.

Neveah glanced around her surroundings, only then realising she was still in Jian's quarters which meant much like the last time, their dreams had been merged to her current surroundings and not Jian's own dreams.

"I should not have come in without your consent... I just..." Neveah began to say but Jian interrupted her.
