"No." Lucien flatly refused.
Lucien did as he said. He dared to charge right in. The dense forest seemed to come alive at once. The branches were stretching desperately towards him, the thick roots breaking through the soil and climbing onto other plants, entangled in a mess. Yet, this did not stop the trees from stretching their branches and roots to capture Lucien.
A burst of dark mist came out from Lucien. And that explosion caused deafening howls of pain all around the forest. The roots and branches immediately retracted back to the owners.
The trees scattered and distanced themselves from Lucien as far as possible. The parts of the roots and branches that were hit by the dark mist lay on the ground, wiggling around, struggling to survive.
But the dark mist was like a deadly poison, once a body part was struck, it would spread and kill the living cells, completely disintegrating the body part into ashes.
