Stripped

Lucien stop asking anymore questions and accepted the person's explanation.

His fingers that clutch the paper slip tightly crumpled the side.

It seems the conversation between the two has ended. The presence of that person has disappeared. After a while, Lucien opened the panel for [Mission] and the first entry there states,

[Become a Player Association employee]

He closed the terminal, locked the doors and window and slumped himself to the bed. He can feel his body is too tired to do anything. His strength was drained from all that fighting and traveling he did.

He dare not let his mind wander to the humans he saw in the roads. Because there was no way for him to save them. He dare not think what happened to Aiden and Vam after he handed the scarlet eyes to the bloody witch.

Because a part of him tell that... the two of them failed the instance. And that somehow triggered the punishment.
