Raid

Adam went down to the river and finally cleaned himself. While he sat at the bank and waited for his clothes to dry up he ruminated on the events of the morning. Killing the other survivors didn't shake him in any way, he was far past this point, but his behavior worried him anyway.

The needless cruelty he had exhibited while dealing with Shaun gave him a pause. He wasn't this kind of man, at least that was what he always believed. The world had proven him wrong, though.

He had enjoyed making Shaun suffer, and even though he had had to make an example out of him either way, he had also taken pleasure from that.

As he analyzed these feelings, he came to a startling conclusion. His behavior had been changing since the Impact, and it was clear that this phenomenon had been somehow caused by the catastrophe.
