If someone had offered Paul unfettered access to Al Capone's secret vault in exchange for reliving today, he'd gladly turn them down. He trudged into their hotel suite and set their takeout on the counter.
Cain and Terrance looked up from the couch.
Cain muted the TV. "How did it go?"
Paul waved a hand in Kerry's direction. "Look at her chest."
Cain's mouth popped open and snapped shut. "Never thought I'd hear those four words from your mouth. Is this a trick?"
Paul removed his glasses, wiped his eyes, and replaced them. "No."
"It feels like a trick."
"For crying out loud." Kerry unbuttoned the first three notches of her shirt and opened it.
Cain's brows furrowed as he slowly rose and walked to her. He reached a hand up to touch the area, but brought it back before making contact. "Wow."
They ate, recounting the events of Black Canyon for Cain and Terrance's benefit, until Amir went over to his laptop on the kitchen table to listen to the digital feed.
