Negotiation

"Don't you dare touch my daughter!" Ella roared as she drew out the butterfly knife from her belt and pointed it at Daniel.

"Calm down! Calm down! I'm just joking. Now that I'm done talking, it's time for me to leave. Remember to fulfill your promise. I want your answer by tomorrow morning." After saying that, Daniel left the island while humming a song.

Ella sat motionlessly at the table. She did not move even when Paul returned from fishing.

Paul carried a big box of fish into the house and said happily, "My dear, I'm back! I made a lot of money today! These are the leftover fishes, let's keep them for ourselves!"

"Where's our kid? Did you see our kid today?" Ella asked suddenly.

"She's in school. It's Thursday today and she will only come home tomorrow night." Paul looked at Ella suspiciously for a long time. He put down what he was holding and sat opposite her before asking, "Why… why is there something wrong with you? What happened?"
